And Dubstep metal is not a genre that needs to be explored. Every combination of dubstep with metal Ive heard sounds exactly the same: laughable.

Trey loves techno, so no suprises he wants to release this really. In fact, this is what the album SHOULD have been. What we got was the half n' half abomination of desolation.

Oh and I'm fine with dubstep existing, hell in the right situations I even enjoy it. What bothers me is the stupid f***ing trend of mashing trends together to create stupid f***ing meta-trends so your stupid f***ing meta-trending bedroom act who was the first to do it can get famous on youtube. In short, go f*** yourself fictional hipster, and yes I'm mad!

Wow this really bums me out. At first I thought this had to be an April fools prank and actually thought it was funny, then I realized it's November and that funny joke is a sad sad pathetic joke.

Dumbstep probably the worst form of music out there. It isn't even really music in it's own sense so much as it's just some drug trip aiding accessory. JUst something to listen to when you're f***ed up on something.

"Listen to that bass dude. It's so dirty. Wait for the drop. Here it comes—wait, wait—yes. Uuunnnngh. That drop is so nasty."

Dubstep came about when 2-step garage artists wanted the attention drum n bass artists were getting and thought it would be cool to mix elements from both styles. Dubstep commonly features samples, dissonant harmonies, minor keys, syncopated rhythms, a snare on every third beat in a bar (just like reggae, thus the 'dub'). The percussion usually plays at half-tempo letting the bassline give the song its double-time drive instead. The most recognisable feature of dubstep is the wobble bass, where a bass note is extended and punctuated by variations in distortion, amplitude and cut-off, generally achieved by playing around with LFOs-

etc etc etc I think you see where I'm going with this. Not liking something doesn't change what it is. I don't like zucchini, but it's still a valid form of food.

For the record, I don't like Dub that much either, I much prefer ambient electro, psytrance and dnb. Not that any of that is any good when you've got a metal itch to scratch :)

@Spaghetti Model, I dont really like dubstep either, but why are you to say what "is" and "isn't" music based on YOUR taste? I think you need to think about the definition of music..

"An art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color."

I think dubstep can be constituted as music, as its fitted within that group..
