Them Crooked Vultures Fan Stabs Himself To Death After Developing Tinnitus

Mirror.co.uk. and Fox News are reporting that a Them Crooked Vultures fan stabbed himself to death after developing tinnitus from attending a concert. The report reads:

Robert McIndoe, 52, was unable to sleep for three months after seeing Them Crooked Vultures at the Brixton Academy, London.

His psychiatrist, Dr Helen Stinson, said: “He accepted death as a side-effect of stopping the noise.”

Them Crooked Vultures is a supergroup featuring music icons Joshua Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones.

I am pretty sure that fox news is using this in one to 2 ways, 1) the uk's socialized (there for all socialized medical coverage) is bad. Live in fear!!! and 2) music (AKA good rock music=art=crazed hippies=Occupy Wallsteet=socialist=godless=liberals) that is any good is really bad for you and will make you do crazy thing. Live in fear!!!!

Frankly I'm just surprised that he wasn't stabbed in Brixton. Jokes aside though, pretty horrible thing to hear.

To say tinnitus can be maddening is understandable... to the point of stabbing yourself to death? I just can't comprehend that. If he really wasn't able to sleep for 3 months, there could have been other issues going on in his head and body anyway though.

#3: As if the rest of the major Western media ISN'T telling us to live in fear - from what we eat/drink to what we drive to the ordinary household items that are allegedly slowly killing us - or DIDN'T go on a post-Columbine tear about how music and movies turn us into psychos. Please. This is a bizarre and attention-getting NEWS story; who wouldn't run it? Maybe Fox was just the first to pick it up from the Mirror.

Not really RTB, it's just that Brixton has a reputation for being a sh**hole. Put it this way, if I'm checking out a tour schedule and the nearest the band is playing to me is Brixton I go, "Nah I'll leave it."

Overkill: "This is a bizarre and attention-getting NEWS story; who wouldn't run it?"

I saw it earlier in the day and decided not to post it. On a site which focuses on bands and their tours, albums etc. it didn't seem relevant to me. I also thought posting something like this just because it would grab peoples attention was wrong. "Man can't sleep for three months and kills himself horribly. Read all about it on MetalUnderground.com!" So yeah, in answer to your question, me.

Hmmmm, poor dude was operating on some shoddy intel... didn't know he was just supposed to cut his ears off eh?

pretty over dramatic....I once got blown out by a dumb kid shootin a braked .338 Win Mag and felt like I was underwater for almost 16 weeks, followed by tinnitus that lasted another year or so...and I don't sleep much the 3/4 of the year I'm chasin wonderful woolly beasties about the wilds...oh, and I've had lyme disease since April, which makes me feel much of the time like I've been frikken steamrolled...I've had so many heavy concussions that my brain doesn't work properly 90 fvckin percent of the time....shall I continue?

Ah, to hell with it man...I just realized I'm totally fvcked, and should probably go murder myself now

So hasta laters, muthafukkas!! oh yeah, and boo fvcking hoo :)

my concern is the fact that he "accepted death as a side affect". that clearly says he had other issues. but knowing the media it will get blamed on the music or some stupid sh**.

agree with dwizard, they're probably going to try and play this as a 'blame it on the music' story. been there, failed that.

^ Anyone who decides to STAB themselves to death obviously has other stuff goin' on inside his noggin'. If multiple people killed themselves after being at that concert then I'd think "Ok......maybe they were turned up to loud." But this guy did this all on his own. But whatever if it made him feel better then more power to him.

That's why you wear ear plugs to concerts.
I learned my lession seeing Cannibal Corpse on The Bleeding tour.
Something was wrong with one of the amps and it emitted and screeching noise during the whole set.
I think everyone stood there with their ears covered.
