Morbid Saint Announces First Hometown Show After Long Hiatus
After a painfully long hiatus, thrash band Morbid Saint will be playing its first live show in almost two decades on December 10th, 2011 in the band's home town of Sheboygan, WI.
“It currently is the purest form of Morbid Saint in all its brutality,” says founding member and current guitar player for Morbid Saint Jay Visser about the show in Sheboygan. “We will be playing mostly all of Spectrum of Death, songs off Destruction System, and new Morbid Saint Songs at the December 10th show in Sheboygan.” The show will be held at the SpeakEasy Bar and is part of a tribute to the late great Dimebag Darrel.
Although a full-length tour is not planned at this time, Morbid Saint will be playing shows in the United States in 2012 and is working on re-releasing the 1989 album “Spectrum of Death” with new songs added. You can see Morbid Saint live at the SpeakEasy bar in Sheboygan, WI on December 10th, 2011. For more information about the band visit the Morbid Saint Facebook profile here.
The band's newly reformed lineup is as follows:
Pat Lind – Vocals
Jay Visser – Guitar
Kevin Koski – Guitar
Bob Zabel – Bass
Randy Wall – Drums

The line up for Morbid Saint has changed many times over the years. The line up that recorded Spectrum isn't the same as the Destruction System line up. And you could split hairs and say Koski is still an original member as he played shows with them before they disbanded.
Is it really about "who" is playing, or about "what" is being played?? Most of the songs were already written, and recorded, The original Morbid Saint line up was not who recorded Spectrum of Death, and the line up on Destruction System was different as well, yes Kevin Koski did play shows with Morbid Saint in the 90's, and Bob Zabel recorded the Bass lines for the new songs, has been in bands with Jay Visser since the mid 90's, and Randy Wall played drums in SGT. Discharge with both Jay Visser, and Pat Lind, and Boxshaft, with Jay Visser, and Jim Fergades. but then there's the new songs... Only time will tell!! The release will be out early 2012!!
Unfortunatly The "Original" Morbid will never be back together, the other members just couldnt agree to come back from what im told, its sad but its the way some bands work, it doesnt have to be the original lineup for the music to be played, yes it is different but the the music is the same and thats what everybody loves in the first place. On another note, this will be my first time seeing Morbid play but im very familier with their music, especially cause I know most of em, and their show will be killer
Yes the original members will never be together, Lee moved to Indiana to pursue a job in business. But I was privileged enough to see the original line-up several times. I still have the ticket stub from when they opened for DEATH on the Spiritual Healing tour. Or was that Leprosy. Anyway, I cannot wait to see, and hear those old songs and the new ones. Frakkin brutality mo fo's
