Five Finger Death Punch's new album, "American Capitalist," has charted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and sold 90,509 copies in its first week, making it the band’s strongest debut yet. "American Capitalist" also charted at #1 on the Independent Current Albums chart, #3 on the Top Current Albums chart, #2 on the Top Current Rock Albums chart, Current Hard Music Albums chart, Top Hard Music Albums chart, and the Overall Digital Albums chart. The band's publicist commented on the achievement:

"American Capitalist' is a completely independent release with no major label backing, making a #3 charting position a genuinely amazing achievement. Prospect Park is a new independent production and management company founded by Jeff Kwatinetz. Kwatinetz is known for starting former management powerhouse, The Firm, a company once known for managing chart-topping artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, and Snoop Dogg. Prospect Park’s music division has a stellar track record of tremendous success with acts that not only include 5FDP, but Jane’s Addiction, Ice Cube and Korn, just to name a few. Prospect Park’s project spectrum is leading them into the world of television in January; the company plans to kick off an internet-based online network beginning with the airing of soap operas, including the classics ‘One Life to Live’ and ‘All My Children’."

Deb Klein, the GM for Prospect Park Label states, “This is our first number 1 on the Billboard chart and it's an incredible testament to the partnership we have with the band and EMI label services. By being independent we are able to take chances and do things quickly and efficiently in this digital age.”

Maria Ferrero, President and CEO of Adrenaline PR adds, “These days, it makes a statement for any band to sell more than 90,000 in its first week, but it is a phenomenon for a Heavy Metal band on an independent label to scan more than 90,000 records.”

You would need to combine Opeth, MFH, Mastodon and Alice Cooper to get 90,000

Who buys 5FDP?

So many wannabe's, I tell ya. How many times have you seen some scrawny fvck in a Tapout shirt, or some fat overweight b@stard stretchin' the polyblend of his MMA tee?

So many stupid people swallowing the capitalist FFDP bullsh!t, hook. line. and sinker.

Pretty dull album in terms of lyrical content, but some decent songs otherwise. I enjoyed listening to it, but cannot say I have been inspired by the lyrics/general themes of the songs.

Didn't realise that this band was associated with MMA so much, pretty laughable how people see it as a trend now, despite not actually training to be a mixed martial artists.

Thankfully it is not as popular in Australia.

Yea,this band bites! Always get a kick out of seeing the 130 pound panty waists wearing the tap out t's,flat billed ball caps. Thats a fad as pathetic as the girly men wearing skinny jeans and having the flip over hairdo's. Unfortunately saw these five finger dorks at Mayem fest a couple of years ago. They're set was totally cringe worthy.

First, its a decent record. Second, this whole page has been stereotyping. It doesnt matter how much you weigh to wear a MMA or Tapout shirt, thats like saying only 7 foot black guys can wear NBA gear! Weight classes- 125, 135, 145, 170, 185, 205, 265, super heavy weight has no weight limit. Most fighters dont weigh more than 160. Its about skill, not weight.

Back to topic, I like 5FDP.
