Bay Area thrash kings Testament are pleased to announce that current "Dark Roots Of Earth" studio drummer and world-famous percussionist Gene Hoglan will be joining them on the road for select dates on their upcoming co-headlining run with Anthrax. Gene will join Testament from October 28th through November 13th.

“As many of you know, I just played on the new Testament record, Dark Roots Of Earth, which went amazingly well,” states Gene Hoglan. “The dudes were kind enough ask me to join them for a couple weeks on this tour with Anthrax and Death Angel. I’m super stoked to do the shows. It’s going to be a great time. Just so everybody knows, I will be selling my Drum Instructional DVD, The Atomic Clock, at the shows (shameless plug). If you can’t make it out to one of the shows, buy it on line!”

RoT: I highly recommend it. A good portion of the DVD shows him playing along with instrumental tracks from his band Mechanism. Awesome stuff! (I have yet to find that disc in stores.)
The instructional parts of the DVD include some great advice on warming up, practice routines, style and what makes the Atomic Clock tick. The DVD overall is both entertaining and informative.

Enjoy the show!!

Love Gene, the man rules. But what's the deal with Bostaph? He's a god behind the kit as well.

^ Bostaph is still recovering from surgery. He had some "serious injury" as reported on various sites, but I haven't heard any details on what the injury was. Hope he heals up quick and completely. Agreed that Paul is a great talent as well!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the sinking feeling that this is it for ol' Pablo...

DJ, I guess the story is that the problem was a chronic aggravation of an old elbow injury (softball)

I would like to believe he'll reclaim his throne in TESTAMENT, but the circumstances seem discomfortingly similar to those preceeding his official departure from Slayer...he cited the same damn injury at the time, only later revealing that he was in fact just sick of being a Bombardo clone, having stupid King dictating EVERY beat he played

I guess we'll see, eh?

^ Found out a bit more about Pauls 'serious injury'.
In short, he tripped on some equipment at his practice space and screwed his wrist up bad enough where it required surgery. But, by the sound of it, the surgeons may have also fixed his tendonitis issues.
He's healing up and will be back on tour when he feels ready.

I remember the Slayer departure, too. But this doesn't quite sound like the same situation to me.
