Spin Magazine Releases Nirvana Tribute Album For Free Download

SPIN's August issue pays tribute to the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's "Nevermind." As part of the tribute, the publication has made a Nirvana tribute album available for free download (email required). While the artists chosen are not ones that most metalheads may enjoy, it does contain two of Kurt Cobain's personal favorites: the Meat Puppets and the Vaselines, both of whom Nirvana covered during their MTV Unplugged taping.

Here's the tracklisting:

MEAT PUPPETS - "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
BUTCH WALKER & THE BLACK WIDOWS - "In Bloom"
MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS - "Come As You Are"
TITUS ANDRONICUS - "Breed"
THE VASELINES - "Lithium"
AMANDA PALMER - "Polly"
SURFER BLOOD - "Territorial Pissings"
FOXY SHAZAM - "Drain You"
JESSICA LEA MAYFIELD - "Lounge Act"
CHARLES BRADLEY & THE MENAHAN STREET BAND - "Stay Away"
TELEKINESIS - "On a Plain"
JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD - "Something in the Way"
EMA - "Endless Nameless"

Sorry guys, I found it to be mostly terrible. There are a couple good covers, and some horrible ones, so download at your own risk.
