I just can not get into these guys anymore. I remember seeing them for the first time in '87, and even though Dave had a tantrum and stomped offstage I still thought they were one of the best bands around. Now after three decades, I listen to Peace Sells and a few tracks off of other earlier releases. But none of the recent stuff.

This is dull. Uninspiring.

I am curious, I wonder if it was because I was a kid or was their music really better in the 80's?

I have to say it's because as we get older we expect more. I find that Testament for example is one of the few that still don't disappoint me in my "old" age. Now the Nevermore's gone, the excitement of new releases from "veterans" is dwindling. I admit, this song is very boring/repetitive. I just saw them again on tour a month or so ago, even the stage presence is gone, but that's understandable with Dave's neck surgeries in the past. Stll hell of musicians though.

To each their own...the only two Mega albums I ever really got into were "Rust" and "Youthanasia".
This song really reminds me of "Youth".
The past three albums have been speed for the sake of speed. This has some dynamics that I really like.
Same with Testament...sorry I didn't like"Formation" I'm really looking forward to the new one as there will be more variety.
Speed is great but memorability and great riffs are better.
I'll even throw another band out there...Over Kill....my favorite..."I Hear Black". So ahead of it's time.
But hated my so many.
Maturity doesn't equal sell out.
Is this classic Mega?
Nah, but they're old give em a break.

Well, I can't say it's the best Megadeth song I've ever heard... but it's a hell of a lot better than most of the crap Megadave's put out over the last few years.

The band has always been and will always be musically tight. But the lyrics have been fairly rediculous for a while now. It's no secret that Dave Ellefson is one of my favorite bassists, but Dave's lack of vocal and lyrical talent really turn me off. I will alway love the first 4 albums they put out, and Rust in Peace (for me) is their magnum opus, but after that, I'll sadly have to decline.

Having seen the band twice now since Junior came back and Broderick joined,i can say thier playing is the tightest its ever been live. I saw them four times between 87-91. Twice with Poland and Gar. I really like the thrashier direction theyve taken the last three or so releases, because they really lost me on Risk. I cant imagine Mustaine at his age has many albums left in him,and his vocals have always been a point of contention. He has lost quite abit live, but the tightness of the band makes up for it imo.

Why is it so useless the old thrash heroes? No one EVER agrees on anything.

Case in point, hellrat. I'm pretty much the opposite there. Anthrax is the only one of the bands he mentioned that have pretty much always been enjoyable. :)

Megadeth, I've listened to every album they've put out, and not a single of them is worth owning. There's more great songs on the older albums compared to filler, true, but it's never been enough to make me want to pick up any of those albums.

Testament, I think the old stuff is pretty forgettable.

Metallica, ignoring the sh**stain that was St. Anger, and skipping the Loads, since they aren't really comparable (though I like them), has consistenly been better than most of the old thrash titans. People tend to completely dismiss them because of the Load albums, which weren't thrash at all, and St. Anger, which everyone agrees was horrible. But they only released those three (3!) albums between the black album which for some reason everyone seems to like, and Death Magnetic, which I thought was a great album. Not thrash like they did in the 80's, but a great mix of all the styles they've been through in their career.

I'll still check out the new Megadeth though, Mustaine has finally started singing in a register he can handle on the new albums. Shame he didn't do that in the 80's when he made interesting riffs as well.

Id rather hear a dull Megadeth song over djent or frikken dubstep any day :-) The new Anthrax is getting great reviews, best album since Persistance of Time i hear. Ill check it out, they havent released music in so long.

Hey guys, lay off Dave. At least his last few albums have been way ahead of anything Metallica have done in recent years. Load and Reload were mediocre at best, St.Anger was a load of sh** and Death Magnetic just a load of regurgitated riffs..Dave gets prejudiced reviews all the time whereas Metallica can come up with a crock of sh** and they will still get favourable judgement.

I saw Megadeth with Overkill at The Metroplex in Atl.,Ga on the Peace Sells Tour. Still one of my favorite concert experiences of all time. The drinking, drugged out, demon conjuring Mustaine rocked! The Jesus loving, drug free Mustaine, not so much. It would be nice to see Dave collaborate with Satan for one final album before he hangs up his Jackson.

Man Chris Broderick rips. Dave Mustaine can't even compare. Not a bad song. Metallica definitely had a good grip on the early 90s but other than that Megadeth has pretty well always put them to shame.

It's good to see that Megadeth is still putting out consistently good music. All I can say is I hope Chris Broderick is given more room to do his lead work because that is where he really shines. Not a huge fan of his metal writing but his classical compositions are extravagant to say the least.

At last, a single is always a single and more than likely the cheesiest if not the most radio friendly.
