Slipknot To Tour The United States Next June

In a recent post on Facebook, Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan revealed that the band will be embarking on a headlining tour of the United States of America next year in June, but also stressed that the band is not working on a new album. His posting reads as follows:

"Slipknot will be touring by next June in America only, but that does not mean things will not change and as they do I will along with others tell you our family first.

"No album yet because it is to soon and there are no songs yet because the band needs to come together to write this next one. I can not wait to feel the ideas like choking on color.

"Everything happens for a reason, so be ready."

RTB: Yeah, they really don't have a rep for consistincy in quality performances. I for one have seen them suck so completely that I wanted my money back. Never again...

I don't know. The last time I saw em they put on a really good show, every cents worth. I might be enticed to see them again but only if they actually come to my town, which sold out the last time.

Seen them about 4-5 times mostly pretty good. Been a while though. Really good at Tattoo th Earth. Only had one release at the time and had no business headlining over slayer, sepultura, and sevendust but still put on a good show.

def sounds like a Mayhem fest run

RTB/BG- I went to that same Mayhemfest RTB mentioned at Glen Helen, and Slipknot was terrible that night, both then maybe six months later at the same venue they headlined the Smokeout tour and sounded drastically better. Drugs?

Why do people say these guys are good live? They definately fill up a stage (9 members?) but they sound sloppy and cluttered. The percussion sounds like a high school marching band behind the chunky guitars and Cory Taylors raspy/slurred live vocals.

I've never felt like Slipknot was the kind of band that should've gotten big. They feel more like the p***ed off energetic underground band that blows the roof off of the local backwater venue on a Saturday night. They're raw.

Ya i remember greed, CTs vocals i know youve had enough of, especially blowing his chords out at times...
I guess thats what happends when your a 2 pack a day smoker and sing in a handfull of other bands/ projects. .
Bruno good point, remember the opening of the mayhem fest show?
When corey had to wheel syd out to the stage because he broke both of his ankles the very first show of the tour in seattle with that epically infamous stage dive/ flounder?
Im a fan of the the knot 99-03, they are still one of the best live acts ive ever seen, but i know those days of people=sh!t ala iowa are long gone unfortunantly

No way. Fxck slipknot. Their new album is okay, but after iowa they just started sounding like they dug through stone sour's garbage. These guys have lost/sold their spirit. I don't care. And they suck live. I'd rather make out with my dad than waste good money seeing them live again. And don't believe anyone. They are terrible live. Worse than linkin park live. I mean it.
