Asgeir Mickelson Comments On New ICS Vortex Album "Storm Seeker"

Asgeir Mickelson (Spiral Architect, Borknagar) has issued the following statement about the release of the new ICS Vortex solo album "Storm Seeker" (reviewed here):

"Finally, the release of 'Storm Seeker.' It's most definitely ICS Vortex' solo album, but it kind of feels like 'my' album too since I not only played drums on it but also co-produced it, edited most of the instruments and vocals, mixed, designed cover and website plus more… I'm definitely NOT trying to steal any of the credits here, but want people to know that it's a lot of work to make an album.

"Someone's got to have talent to write songs, then spend countless hours making them, then get someone to play the songs, get a record deal, record the songs, get cover design, photos etc, then do a zillion interviews and promote the album, get a booking agent, play gigs… So it's really sad when people just download the frikking thing… Someone might think 'It doesn't matter if I download – it's only ONE download.' That's what his neighbour thought too when he downloaded. And then his neighbour… And his… Yeah, you get it.

"'Storm Seeker' is out through Century Media and the album should be available where you ususally buy CDs or digital releases. If you head over to CM Distro you'll see the various formats – Jewelcase CD, digipak CD and LP (black, grey and blue vinyl). If you preordered it you would get a limited edition shirt as well. Get the album through here."

A new song from the album titled "Odin's Tree" is also available for streaming online by heading over to this location.
