Nylithia Releases Music Video For "Immersed In The Maniacal"

Vancouver, Canada technical metal act Nylithia has posted its new music video online for streaming. The video was filmed for the track "Immersed In The Maniacal" and features raw footage captured during the recent riots in the band's hometown. The band commented on the video by saying;

"We incorporated shots of some of the insanity, or the 'maniacal,' that was encountered in the most widely video documented riot in history, right here in our hometown after the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup Final. We mixed it with footage of us playing in front of cookie cutter, manicured lawn, neighbourhoods where everything looks the same. In our opinion, equally as maniacal as the riot itself."

The track is to be included on the band's forthcoming new album "Hyperthrash" which the band plan to release in a unique way. Speaking on this the band offered the following;

"Nylithia has devised our own method for releasing our upcoming self-produced album. The focus MUST be put back onto individual songs, re-instilling each track with the value it deserves. Therefore we have a new model: we will be releasing our new album, one song at a time, for FREE download via Nylithia.com. Each MP3 will be accompanied by a video, lyrics, and a piece of original artwork by 'Infector EP' artist, Humanburger Jones."

Ok, im sorry. this is gay, releasing one song at a time?? Who the f*** is going to check back every now and then on a underground-underground canadian band... It would be best to release an album, oh i know i know, u dont want to do "what everyone else is doing" blah blah blah. I think that releasing material in physical form instead of the easy way out of digital download is better, because u get the album artwork, the lyrics, all the great stuff that comes with buying a cd.

actually liked the way they're releasing the album. If it was a big name act doing this, people would praise them for it and have no problems checking back once a week for the next song/instalment. The only risks here is that these guys aren't a big name act with a massive following, and the obvious potential for waiting too long between releases. Anything more than a few days and I'm afraid most will have forgotten all about it - unless the music is INSANELY awesome. Here's hoping.

btbamfav20, they have a really big following in Western Canada and they also said to me that at the end of the cycle for releasing songs and a music video for each song that they plan to release it on CD and on Vinyl. So either way, I think this is a great idea and this video is very well done and all of their videos so far have been top quality so they are putting three times as much effort into releasing this album than even the biggest, most successful bands would. They earn their respect for that in my opinion.

Believe me KickAssDuke, real Vancouverites feel the exact same way! That's why so many of them, almost 11,000 went the morning after to help with the clean up. The rioters were beyond moronic and have been revealed that over 90% weren't even from Vancouver but were coming from as far away as Saskatchewan.

OHHHH sh**. I was wondering where I had heard their name before. The Supermario brothers song they did was f***ing awesome, though video game covers tend to get annoying after a while(i.e. powerglove)

While I agree with btbam that it's hard to imagine myself, or anyone, being that actively interested to routinely check for singular releases from a band, no matter the level of popularity, just the fact that they have a fresh idea like that keeps the band in my mind. The Mario cover they did was great but still left them as a forgettable band to me, considering the cover a schtick to be enjoyed once and then ignored.

So I dont think I'll be checking the songs out individually, unless they do interesting videos like this for each one, and I mean, how long can that last? However, I'm definitely picking up the album when it comes out, based off this one song so far which is awesome, and the bands apparent dedication to doing SOMETHING unique, which suggests ot me that the music might hold the same dedication.
