As I Lay Dying Snags "Best Hard Rock" Award From The San Diego Music Awards

As I Lay Dying has once again been recognized by the band's hometown of San Diego, as the group has taken home the "best hard rock" award at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards.
The awards show will took place on August 8th at Humphreys By The Bay in San Diego, CA. As I Lay Dying has also been honored at the awards in the past, taking home the "artist of the year" award on three separate occasions in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
All of the genre categories were voted on by the public, while the album categories were voted on by the San Diego Music Academy. The full list of winners and nominees can be seen at this location.

This band gets sh!t for there christian backround, so must of the roadapples thrown at them on the net are usually from facking haters, devil worshipers or athiests, but bullsh!t aside, u cant tell me this band doesnt deserve a metal brand name, thats bullsh!t
haha well an elitist would think they're taste is better than everyone elses thus making them better than everyone else and I don't think that by any means. I'm an extreme genre purist true. But what else is new, it's not like I said they sucked for being metalcore. So chillax.
All I'm going to say is genre's should be used to describe a band in the best and most accurate way without being long winded. Whether the band is good or not has nothing to do with it.
Last time I heard them metalcore was a more accurate description of AILD's sound better than metal, so that's what I'll stick to.
Yes,As I Lay Dying is metalcore. They are metal! And i like.thier music. I dont believe they like the Christian tag they get,believe thats come about through the media. Both times ive seen them,they put on kickass live shows. They seem to get better with every release. Just my opinion.
