im a fan of the band, so i congratulate them but it boils my blood when people mis label the term "metal"

"metal" scares the masses. i played with a guitarist once who said he was metal but wrote 'breaking benjamin' riffs. i kindly stopped playing with him.

Aild is just a generic metalcore band. They aren't metal, and they are hardly hard. It's like Paramore taking home best punk and rock awards. They aren't either. They're a pop band. The masses will never learn.

haha well an elitist would think they're taste is better than everyone elses thus making them better than everyone else and I don't think that by any means. I'm an extreme genre purist true. But what else is new, it's not like I said they sucked for being metalcore. So chillax.

Metalcore = Metal, its in the fvcking name. Nu Metal is also metal. Just because metal is the best genre of music doesn't mean its populated exclusivly by things you like.

All I'm going to say is genre's should be used to describe a band in the best and most accurate way without being long winded. Whether the band is good or not has nothing to do with it.

Last time I heard them metalcore was a more accurate description of AILD's sound better than metal, so that's what I'll stick to.

I agree with n0thinghead on this one. AILD really does stand out from all the generic metalcore out there, and it kinda sucks that a band like them is grouped together with acts like Attack Attack and TDWP.

Yes,As I Lay Dying is metalcore. They are metal! And i like.thier music. I dont believe they like the Christian tag they get, believe thats come about through the media. Both times ive seen them, they put on kickass live shows. They seem to get better with every release. Just my opinion.
