VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland has been placed on strict lockdown at the Pasadena, CA. rehab facility where he is currently completing a six-month residential program after he was caught attempting to smuggle drugs into the center, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

Weiland, who was allowed out for several days last month, under police supervision, to complete his vocals for VELVET REVOLVER's debut album, is believed to have one more song left to record for the as-yet-untitled CD, tentatively due in late March/early April through RCA Records.

The album, which was produced by Josh Abraham (LIMP BIZKIT, STAIND), is currently being mixed at a California studio by Andy Wallace, who has previously worked with NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, LINKIN PARK, SLAYER and SEPULTURA, among many others.

As previously reported, the former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS vocalist was scheduled to appear in court on December 3 on a DUI charge, but the hearing was moved to December 23. Weiland will enter a plea at that time to charges of driving under the influence of drugs. He was arrested on his birthday, October 27, after crashing his BMW into several parked cars on a Los Angeles street, then attempting to flee the scene.

That guy is so pitiful, he is like some kind of cartoon character of rock 'n' roll druggie losers. Always with one foot on the road to success, he does his very best to screw it up. How long before the final news report a la Layne Staley?

I can't begin to imagine why Slash and the guys keep giving him chance after chance, everyone
knows that he's just gonna keep on blowing it until he O.D's for good!!!
I give Weiland his props, he's a great singer BUT, Velvet Revolver could really go
somewhere if they found a singer that could control his self-destructive side better
than Weiland! It's like the same recipe for disaster with G N'R all over again except
Weiland is screwing it up for everyone this time!!! All this drama with Weiland is
pathetic joke already!!! What a complete waste of talent!!!
