British comedian and multi-instrumentalist Bill Bailey has posted a video online in which he demonstrates why he and his band are more than ready to take Metallica's place at this weekend's edition of the Sonisphere Festival in the United Kingdom. You can check it out below. Both Bill Bailey and Metallica will be performing at this year's English Sonisphere, which kicks off this Friday at Knebworth. Also performing will be Slipknot, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and a whole host of others.

RTB, Bill Bailey is one of the most popular comedians here in Britain. He incorporates music into his routines and he's genuinely a great musician to boot. He's even done a small, but hilarious bit about Slayer in one of his shows.

great video indeed!

but Metallica puts on a great live how DB. Saw them with The Sword and Lamb Of God. Its no Gwar show, but it was the greatest concert I've ever been to. Besides a few Death Magnetic tracks, they only played material from the first four albums as well. Great stuff! :)

I actually have no interest in seeing Metallica ever again. Their "Evening with Metallica" tour was pure perfection and their tour with GNR after that was just ok. The footage I've seen after that really disappointed me on many levels and I'm not interested in ruining the memories by seeing a subpar performance. Or hearing any of their new stuff live - while not all terrible, it just hasn't grabbed me.

Yeah he used to be one of the team captains on Buzzcocks from 2002 to 2008. Here he is doing a blues song with Robin Williams for Prince Charles' birthday.

Agreed with DB. Saw em right before DM dropped and was completely underwhelmed. Of course, the last time I saw them before that was MOP. Should have left it at MOP... RIP Cliff and RIP Metallica.

THAT'S... all of them."

the man used to be a lot funnier, but still damn good and perfect for sonisphere. i almost rank him up with rollins when it comes to metal satire.
