I love seeing Rammstein on American television again. Maybe they will gain some new fans by performing on the show. I also recently got to see them in Chicago, and they are very tight live. I don't think they were using a playback track on Kimmel. I personally adore Rammstein. Their music, their shows, and I really hope they return to the US in the future. As for the light in Til's mouth. Darkstar is right, about them using a wire through is cheek in the video for "Ich tu dir Weh". If you look closely in their performance on Kimmel, he has a very thin wire running along the side of his face and sticking in the corner of his mouth, instead of through his cheek. If I remember from the making of the previous mentioned video, this was an option considered, but at the time Til wanted it through a hole in his cheek. Seems like that is a little too painful for him to do constantly on tour. Either way it is kind of neat.
nah n'head, its this song that's really old! crazy its already been almost 15 years
not even really a fan, but that performance was very cool...agree that they would be a must see if they ever came anywhere near
now I'm gonna have this kraut sh!t stuck in my head all fvcking day :)
^ true, Till was born in '62 or '63 and he's said he will retire at 50 to spend more time with his family.
My opinion, if "Liebe ist eine Duff" is the best Rammstein can do, perhaps it is time to pull the plug.
I actually remember reading an interview with Cristoph right after "Liebe ist" was released, and he admitted there were 2 band members who weren't that interested in coming back for another album.
Oh well, time will tell.
They are playing live, i know one of the lightmen that work for Rammstein, and he said that Rammstein wont use playback, the only time he knew Rammstein used it was in 2005, then they used backtrack on keyboard due to bad contact in the keyboard and the delivery of more keyboard was delayed due to traffic accident with a Rammstein truck.
The light in the mouth is a small light that he have the cable on left side of mouth. He used to have it in the cheek, but when he did drink he used to fill up his mouth with drink so it did squirt out there, and that is extreamly dangerous, so he had to seal it. Also it was alot of work to keep the hole open when he didnt want to wear a piercing.
Yea I agree with Gutter. The beginning of the album was good. But the latter part was sort of fillerish. But I still think it was a pretty solid release.
I just hope I get to see them live before they stop. I don't know what demons were holding me back from going to the tour that just passed. I hope they come back.....
Ok chris666.
Just wondering howcome there's no fret buzz/noise on the guitars, while other bands have em, for example Metallica does.
Must be pretty heavily distorted / gated guitars then.
BTW, I'm amazed no one has slagged me off on the "Liebe ist eine duff" ("love is a Duff" in crap german ;) Homer parody. I got away with it! LOL
I didn't even notice that you wrote that WOLF heh heh.
Yea they have something on their instruments becaucse they sound really clean. Sounds great though. I mean either that or they just have good action on their guitars because not all guitars have fret buzz if the action is set right.
Ah BG, my friend, Glad to see someone gets what I mean! That's precisely my point.
Ok, I know they're great musicians, but I listened to this one on headphones, and that made me wonder what's going on.
Either the guitars are super, super, super tightly gated, or then the guy mixing is sitting with his finger on "mute", pressing it down - for example - every time Till goes into the "Du, du, du hast..." etc.
Or then... well, who knows...

It amazes me that the other guys can be so calm while Til is throwing that thing around at the beginning.
