Nevermore Parts Ways With Guitarist Jeff Loomis And Drummer Van Williams
Band Photo: Nevermore (?)
Just a couple weeks after dropping off their North American tour with Symphony X, American metal outfit Nevermore has announced that the band has parted ways with guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams, both of which have been with the group since the 1995 self-titled album. A joint statement from Loomis and Williams reads as follows:
"In a mutual decision Jeff Loomis and Van Williams have decided to leave Nevermore. The time has come to pursue our own paths from the group. Due to internal struggles and ongoing issues within the band, we feel it is our time to move on. We would like to thank all of our fans around the world for their years of love, support and enthusiasm. This was not an easy decision but a very necessary one at this point, may we all meet again someday, somewhere in time."

Damn that's crazy to hear. I only like a few Nevermore songs. Warrel Danes vocals really make or break this band for me. Jeff Loomis is a phenomenal guitarist, and I hope I see him in other stuff soon. It'd be cool to see him in heavier stuff then Nevermore or Sanctuary. I Just listen to Sanctuary though and liked them a lot
Dude sh**iest news of the day. No Jeff = no Nevermore. Warrel's solo stuff is the only way he should go. I wish Jeff and Van the best and hope they create a killer new band . Also hope this is just a temp thing and they make up soon and reform Nevermore ... RIP Nevermore for now
I already posted on numerous blogs, but this f***ing blows. So sudden as well.
Warrels got his sh** down with Sanctuary and his solo career.
Without Jeff Nevermore will not exist. Man that guy can f***ing play though. Get you some nice growls, get Van in on some blast beats and you can call it a day. I know Jeff can churn out riffs like no other so if this isn't already in the works, hit up Broderick bro.
Obsidian conspiracy was weak, so I suppose this was due.
There most recent album was a big letdown, it was kinda a sign that they were on the decline. Loomis has been rumored to be joining 7 Horns 7 Eyes, and I don't know about Van though. Hope they continue to make music though, preferably together, both great musicians!
