Play the first two records in their entirety and skip that horrible double set monstrosity they released last! Cheer up NHead. More dates to follow;I'm sure they'll hit up Miami. They got the bucks to do fly ins unlike van touring bands who gotta take a couple of days off their schedule to drive way down there and back.
Dude they can play the Hockey:BBall arena. Surprised they haven't yet in the past. They probably did though on their last tour. You'll see em. Their pretty sloppy I have to warn you. Saw em at a Church Gym in Clinton MA for the first time with Nothingface;a young Shadows Fall and headliners Fear Factory in 99.they were touring for their first album. Might have been 98. Memory slightly hazy after 500 plus shows!
Malakian's lead vocals are a bit jarring and his lyrics more than just a little simplistic ("Old School Hollywood", "Most Loneliest Day" to start) but SOAD never put out a bad album as I'm concerned. My favorites's being the debut and "Steal this Album" but "Mez/Hyp" and "Toxicity" of course had numerous high points for me as well.
agreed with RM? toxicity was amazing to me.
R 10: not sure what ur talking about. u probably mean the AAA (american airlines area), where the miami heat play and a bunch of other pop star events, which is about 20 min's from me. i've been there for a show, and i fvcking hate it man. pay MORE $$$ for CRAPPIER view. wtf? i just prefer the small venue and club type of show. but system will never do that.
I'm thinking you missed out on the System club your stuff by 12 years or so. Next best thing is indoors at Heats arena climate controlled! Seeing its 90s plus and rains so much in summer down there its probably the best your gonna do!You definatley aint gonna see em at a small venue at this point!
Yea NHead I hear ya! I'm sure they'll hit up S Florida ;its a major market! I was soured on System last time I saw em on Ozzfest. To much preaching from Serge and sloppy play! A set list that consisted of the first two albums might interest me to see em again though! You'll see em dude I'm sure! And I expect a review!
It sucks there's no east coast dates at all. They'd sellout shows over hear. If Rammstein can sell out MSG in 30 minutes, I think System can get a massive crowd at any east coast venue. I don't know who the hell is booking their shows. If these dates go well for them though, they've gotta do a full U.S. tour.
Aah dude your spoiled down there in the shadow of NYC! You all get tours we here in New England don't get! Last summers Maiden? You all had it;we missed out! Seriously dude I wouldn't worry! Who knows System probably plays whatever outdoor ampitheater you have in NYC or NJ. So what you gotta get some tokens for a subway trip! Lol!
More bands should do this.
Since they won't be anywhere near me I didn't bother but if they had (and this is banking that they would play the bulk of their singles)
I would request:
"Suite Pee" (Great from start to finish)
"Peephole" (Possibly my favorite track from them)
"Mr. Jack" (love the harmonies and dual shouting)
"Tentative" (goose bumps throughout the last half)
"Highway Song" (harmonies & instrumental section)
"She's like Heroin" (Not generally a fan of Malakian lead vox and lyrics but they work here!)
I know. It sucks. At least you live in the Maimi area. I'm in a tourist trap also, but we get NO good shows here. You always have to drive at least an hour to get anything good. Usually the only places near me where we get shows is Atlanta. I was gonna see Cannibal Corpse there but by the time I had heard about it, the tickets were sold out. Same thing happened with Gwar for me. By the time I got the money for it, the shizz was sold out or the show had already passed. I don't remember. But yeah, we're always getting butt fvcked -_______-*
Yeah, dude. They usually only have like rock bands you hear on the radio and sh!t play here. Nothing really heavy at all unless it's an underground band. And these days, most underground bands here are all death core and stuff. It really sucks that I have to drive an hour or more to see a good show. ):
