Metalunderground.com To Release Exclusive Peter Steele Tribute Album, “All For None, None For All: A Tribute to Peter Steele"

Update: The tribute album is now available for download! The teaser trailer and cover artwork for the tribute album are also available at this location.
Last year the musical world was dealt a serious blow when gothic metal titan Peter Steele tragically passed away at the age of 48. While Peter may be gone, his music and his legacy live on, and they continue to inspire musicians around the world.
To honor Peter’s memory on the anniversary of his passing, and lead a new generation of metalheads to his music, heavy metal news site Metalunderground.com has teamed up with a dozen underground bands from across the globe to release an exclusive tribute album. The tribute, entitled “All For None, None For All: A Tribute to Peter Steele," was done in collaboration with Dan Mitchell of Beneath The Woods Studio and features twelve stellar cover songs from many stages of Peter’s career in both Type O Negative and Carnivore.
The songs covered, which include interpretations running the gamut from depressive rock to power metal to death metal and many stops in-between, are as follows:
Auvernia - “I Don't Wanna Be Me”
Fairytale Abuse - “Black No. 1”
In.verno - “Everything Dies”
Dead Shape Figure - “Dead Again”
Revilement - “Sex and Violence”
Emancer - “Girlfriend's Girlfriend”
A Band of Orcs - “Green Man”
Enthrope - “Wolf Moon”
Stabbingback - “Halloween in Heaven”
Dark Hound – “Life Is Killing Me”
Autumns Eyes – “Love You To Death”
Blind Greed – “Christian Woman”
A final track listing is still being determined.
Discussing his own exposure to Type O Negative, Fairytale Abuse vocalist Simon Pederson explained, “I remember very clearly when one of my friends introduced me to Type O Negative back in the early 90´s. I was quite impressed by the ambiance and melancholia of the music but even more by the depth and character of Peter Steele´s vocals. Since then their albums still regularly find their way to my CD player.” Simon then went on to add, “Peter Steele is for us without doubt one of the most significant forefathers within the entire melodic metal genre. So when being asked to deliver a song for his tribute we were doubtless that we had to participate and are honored to do so.”
The tribute includes a complete digital booklet including words from the band members themselves about Peter’s influence.
“All For None, None For All: A Tribute To Peter Steele” will be available in digital format through Metalunderground.com for a small price, required to cover the mechanical licensing fees and transaction fees.
Ideally, we wanted to give this tribute away for free and let it spread like wildfire, but when distributing cover songs there are licensing fees involved since the original compositions belong to the artist and/or label. This tribute is meant to honor Peter Steele and Type O Negative’s impact on his fans and the metal landscape. We do not intend to make a penny off of this release and any earnings we may have at the end of the day will be donated to charity.

i find this to be pretty cool. i have never heard of ANY of these bands that will be on this cd, but i find it quite wonderful that this went down and i cant wait to find out when and where i can get this cuz i want it!! thanks to those who put this together.
eternally negative in a carnivore world.
To say we were honored would be the understatement of the year. Add to that my surpirse to see Christain Woman wasn't already selected and we had the perfect storm. I'm just as excited as everyone else to hear what the other bands did with their selections. Grapevine has it that there is some AMAZING fvcking stuff on this album. Cheers to DB, Ty and everyone involved in making this thing happebn.
I'm definitely down to hear Auvernia and Blindgreed. The both of them are doing two of my favorite Steele songs, and both bands are coincidentally the sh**.
If only Peter were around to hear this...oh wait, that would negate the need to create the tribute album...sh**.
Many thanks to all the bands that sacrificed so much time and effort to make these amazing songs! If anyone isn't familiar with the bands on the tribute, do yourself a favor and check them out. Some of my favorite groups made it onto this, and their cover songs are nothing short of awesome. More news coming shortly!

I think Peter would be honored to be dead so he doesn't have to hear what a complete slab of sh*t this tribute is going to be. Horrible bands, who discovered Type O probably in the past year, and will do nothing but butcher solid songs.
Do the world a favor, use these as a fancy coaster, and spare us the agony of having to accidentally come across these on YouTube.
It would be one thing if they actually had bands who could do these songs justice but, these bands are just stoolie bum awful!
^^Hey next time you want to have a cry about lesser known bands, don't do it on a site called Metalunderground.com.
Personally I think that's one of the best thing about tributes - I have the ones to Katatonia, Thergothon and Manilla Road and I discovered great new bands from each.
^ha! Groucho indeed...and how the fvck would you know, you fvcking sloppy sh!thole?
You heard em? ANY of em??
Save your pissy drivel for after the record drops, should you feel the same way still
In the mean time...fvck yerself sideways all the way back to hell, you fvcking drippy snivelling CVNT
Cheerio now, BumSnuffler :)

Not my loss to be honest. Some things you just know are going to suck. Like going into a Cd section at Kmart and seeing a x-mas holiday Cd being performed by some choir boys group...you know it's going to suck. In this case, that choir boy cd, will probably be better than this audio blockade of crappola.

I was just suggesting this idea to someone, created by the TON cover band. But instead of them doing songs already done by TON (which could only sound like someone just ripped a dozen songs, place it on a CD and give it a catchy name), but do songs that MIGHT have been covered by Peter if he lived to do so. It would be a 'what if Type O Negative covered THIS' album.
Aw come on man! I was just startin to have fun with the Grouchy Stool Gobbler!
well whatever, he's prolly strokin his flimsy noodle to the x-mas boiz with the headphones on anyway
But like i said, I'm stoked to hear this thing!
hey blind...favors is favors, no?

I hope everyone enjoys these songs that are a tribute to a great man that has influenced many. Just so nobody thinks we took this project lightly. Just know that we (Blind Greed) have spent hours upon hours recording and mixing and then mixing again, only to mix again, and again just so we could feel that we had done justice to Peter's song. Enjoy.
Every band has been an "unknown" band at some point in time. The only way they got known and popular is by someone hearing them once and building upon that. It is human nature to go with what is known and safe before going out on a limb with something new. The same goes with underground metal. Resist the temptation to keep listening exclusively to what you know and try new things. You just might find your favorite new group. Listen to something first before your instinct to judge. An open mind shouldn't have a closed door.

Since the days of meeting Peter in New York i became a fan of his music ,/also a friend... I HAVE SINCE HIS DEATH HAVE BEEN DOING A TRIBUTE TO HIM AT EVERY SHOW WE PLAY.. WE PERFORM A VERSION OF BLACK#1 AT ALL OUR SHOWS!!! TOBAD WE WERE NOT INVITED TO DO IT HERE , BUT THATS WHAT ITS ABOUT !!! GLAD TO SEE A TRIBUTE TO MY MAN PETER STEELE!!! RAWK
I think my Tribute song should be a part of this CD!!! Go to youtube.com and search Peter Steele Tribute song part 2 "Just call out my name". it's about his journey in to the after life and how he has touched us all! It's original and everyone thinks it's actually Type O doing the song..I want to get on this CD in the worst way possible..help me get on it! Go to youtube and you'll see why it's worthy...Peace everyone..
Corey

I heard peter steele sucked d*** for coke...I also would like to add I use to bang the lead singer of blind greed we were "bath tub buddies" To all you p***ys who shed a tear of peter puller steele I will be atending blind greeds concert this friday the 13th I look forward to all or any of you who come and exspress your hatred for me..F.O.A.D
Kaptein: Look at you acting as though you didn't cry when Peter died. I held you for hours as you blubbered like a teenage girl who got stood up at the prom. Oh and BTW... We had to pull out of the Friday the 13th show. We need to hang out again soon. I haven't had my back exfoliated with a loofa since you moved out.
Someone should never be vilified just because they did some drugs. He had his points where he tried conquering his demons, but that's the nature of addiction. It crosses all demographics and barriers, and unfortunately can plague the highly intelligent. Insanity is knowing the consequences and being fully willing to beat yourself up black and blue and go through with the hell all over again.

Should be pretty interesting to hear some underground bands take on Type Os @ Peters vocals. Eager to hear the end of Christian Women with Peters :The first mistake@ body of Christ : Dudes voice was an instrument in itself. Speaker rattling. Cinnamon Girl woulda been a cool choice as would a few Carnivore tunes for good measure. Regardless of what anyone feels about Type Os music;they were an incredible live band.

Anxious to hear BG.Feel sorry for the band member who had to hit those high notes that worked along with Peters deep parts. Hopefully you all did the extended 9 min album version @ not the greatest hit version. I always love that acoustic part at the end complete with chirping birds and Ol Pete singing :Jesus Christ looks like me... This song put em on the map back in the mid 90s. Such an epic song I can never get sick of hearing. Hopefully this tribute turns younger fans of metal onto Type 0 ;something they might of missed.

I also heard that "blind greed" was going to cover some"Wham" songs I hope they cover "Wake me up" I would say Type O negative was probly the best "Wham" cover band. I mean they both were super gay and talentless..Besides anyone whos a does drugs deserves to die a horrid painful death. The Lord took peter away for being a gay drug addicted retard we all know the Lord hates drugs and gays and retards so when you mix them you get peter steele..May he rot in hell..P.S Does anyone know how to get a balloon full of herion out of a cat with out cutting it open..God bless

Wow, Kaptein, way to spread your religion's purported message of love and forgiveness. A Testament song comes to mind...oh, yeah, PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH! Oh, wait, that's exactly what's happening in our country - a small minority of Christians preaching hate and violence and then practicing it in the form of ramped up defense spending and wars through the medium of the American political system. Brilliant, I commend you.
