I don't like System of a Down, and I would usually be mad if a metal band covered them, the only thing that saves Amon Amarth from my wrath is that I have to admit; Aerials is a really good song... Anyhow, the cover isn't great, this song can't work with harsh vocals, the clean vocals are its most important element.
Shoe Police pretty much got it. I just think it's interesting that they covered it. I liked the ending too.

I actually agree with you there. I wonder what it would be like if Amon Amarth used clean vocals on it.
I don't see what they big deal is covering SoaD, i'm sure they listen to other bands beside death metal. Not really a SoaD fan but i do like this better than the original.
I was expecting something as bad as CoB's Aces High cover or Arch Enemey's Symphony of Destruction cover.
@18 yea Arch Enemy added a set of elephant balls to Manowars Kill With Power. Fine job on the Megadeth tune also. Amott brothers are 2 of my favorite guitarists in the biz. I think Amon could have made a better selection to cover. Sugar would have been interesting.
i didn't know Bodom did aces high....arch enemy did it as well, back before they had Angie on vox
agreed about the bros Amott, big R....i like the way them dudes play!
as for this? 'spose its ok in and of itself....i fvcking hate the fvcking CHOAD band they're covering, however
With Shoe Police and Zelic on this one. Except I'm a moderate Soad fan. I had micro goosebumps for the closing third of it. Always a good sign.
Quite an odd song for these guys to cover but they could have chosen worse in both style and substance. Points for making it work but the original edges it out.

sounds like what you'd expect, not bad, little boring, the ending saves it
