c'mon cynic... not cool. i wouldda thought u, of ALL of MU, would like them. nonetheless would i have thought u to say that about them too. tool and apc are 2 vry different bands. tool is maynard's band. apc's billy's, but with a collabo with maynard. now, billy's got ashes divide and it's all his. now THAT is the band that is "a pale shadow of" apc, but still good nonetheless imo.

i'd like to think that apc is to mellow alternative rock/industrial as tool is to prog rock/ post-metal.

Well a bit harsh yeah - I guess the thing is pretty much all bands are a pale shadow of Tool because they're fantastic. I remember back in high-school I was a big Tool fan and paying $30 for "Thirteenth Step" and being hugely disappointed - I guess my dislike from them stems from that. First three tracks and especially "Weak And Powerless" were pretty good, rest bored me.

Could not have put it better myself BG. The Gavel has been struck;end of thread. Really Tool are indeed masters who float around in their own little musical galaxy without peer! They're pretty humble and they tend to scoff at the genius adulation thrown their way. Wish they'd release stuff more frequently but they tend to stick to their own schedule without label pressure. Guess that's why I like them so much and am willing to be patient. They do what they do;when they want to do it. Hawkeye the floor is yours sir

I've heard of Jonny, never actually met the guy. I worked over at Echo Mountain resort not to long ago, (smaller ski place up near Idaho Springs) but after this winter ends I'll probably apply at REI, cause they're hiring.

GS: APC serves its purpose well...I just don't have much purpose for it myself. RememberMetal? summed up the issue nicely. Tool on the other hand is divine fuel for my ears every single day...the only band I can listen to every day and never get sick of....ever.

If you liked "13th Step" immediately check out "Mer De Nom".

It's just as dark lyrically/thematically, it's slightly heavier and deviously catchy. As far as Maynard Keenan's vocal performance, I would put it in leagues with "AEnima" and "Lateralus". One of the best non-metal albums of the 00's.

On one hand they have similar text (use of commas, elipsis), post at the same time, but on the other why in gods name would he say he's going to the show and argue against himself? Also duplicate IPs like that can definitely happen - verdict not guilty, good to have you on board sailing the seas of metal silver.

well hell, if I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it and buy young Silver Mtn Man as many rounds as he can handle....seems WAY to 'coincidental' to me anyway, but i'll decline to go into the more subtle details in honor of ol K Dogg's request...

though shoot, seems like ol' HAWKEYE would wanna come around and clarify his own sovereignty if he were indeed his own identity?

i certainly ain't convinced, but i'll let it lie anyhow :)

Thanks Cynic I aprechate that, a lot. Hellrat, nothing against you brother at all, If you wanna make something out of an internet error and accuse me something that never happend, go ahead, I love Tool and APC, so as Cynic said, why would I argue against myself? that doesn't sound right... If something happend where I did have to apologize, I'd be more then whiling to say look guys sorry for my mistake, and I will do my best to not let this happen ever again, but in this case. None of that is needed here. But thanks again Cynic.

Quite welcome! Multiple spins will yield rewards.

It seems as though APC has the touring apparatus going full-bore. I know there was talk from both Keenan and Howerdel about some writing going on many moons ago w/a possible digital or ep release... which may have snowballed into something larger. But I havent caught any new album news since then.

sure Silver! i fvckin love coloradical---my mom was born and raised in Loveland and my aunt lives near Black Forest

actually lived in boulder for few months back in the early 90s, my girlfriend was at cu, but transferred after 1 semester...prolly haven't been to town in 5-6 years, but i get up to CO at least a few times a year

say, my mom is gonna be at the Boulder marathon on labor day weekend, so shoot me an email if ya want me to send them beers up there, your choice of course! i know its a long ways off, but i always like to follow through

and if you ever get down to taos, give a holler as well....and bring your bike! we got some good singletrack

now I would like to apologize for my harsh words over this misunderstanding, but if i ever come to find out that you are in fact the Hawker.... well then its MANY beers on you---a hearty round for EVERYone on the mighty metal underground !! :)

Thanks for your apology. Sounds awesome man, I've been to Taos and went on backpacking summer thing there, quite an awesome set up there. I thought it was the nicest spot out in New Mexico rather then Santa Fe, everything else was like Texas for me. Hopefully you can make it back out here. It's always good to visit a once lived home. Although there isn't a thriving metal scene Ft. Collins is thriving with local metal blade artists Allegaeon kick @$$ every few fridays, same with Havok when they're in town. So if you're ever in town lemme know and we'll go see a show er two.
