oh man...i was heavy into Gord when i was 3 and 4 years old! i used to jones at preschool till i could get home and listen to Cold on the Shoulder...to me, that was WAY better than pie! my mom said i was so mad for that record that she pretended it got lost cause she was so fvckin sick of it!

was pretty into the gambler Kenny Rogers around that time as well, that was my first show! he played on a flatbed trailer in the bucking arena at Tingley one night of the NM State Fair, and i was SO fvckin stoked! ...77 or 78, can't remember

we also listened to a sh!tload of John Denver since we lived in the rockies and my mom's from CO...he had a massive regional influence

oh ya, and Neil Fvckin Diamond! :)

ya, totally! we had the Int'l Scout and the '78 F250 4x hi boy :)

nah, my bud malone just doesn't give a fvck...ha, one time in france, a bunch of us had done a good round of skiing off the Aiguiille in the morning, and then headed up to Grand Montet where there was this huge slopeside bash, with a sh!t frog band playing the fvcking 'final countdown' and sh!t, terrible!!...they had built a huge table top and were have a big air contest

malone is a gymnast, and at the time had a modest pro snowboard contract; but for freeride, not necessarily contest....we all got beers and drinks and were watching all the huckers, and we kept giving him hell, telling him to enter that fvcker! he was all slack with his drink, and keeps saying nah, he's "just really not into this fvcking frogged out rip-so-hard-guy contest" :)

so we all keep swilling and it finally gets to be the last few dudes, and nick suddenly stands up and pounds the rest of his glass all beligerent and swears 'ah fvck this sh!t man! where the fvck is my board!!!"

he marches up there and gets at the back of the line and goes last....hits that thing super hard and does a slow-mo, laid out double back flip and almost over shot the landing but rode the nose and fvcking pulled it....the frenchies went fvcking apesh!t and the announcer was totally jibbing out cause didn't even know who this big 'winner' was, cause malone obviously didn't even register!

he won a knock off candy apple red Strat and some other cheesey sh!t and he fvcking brought that thing to all the fvcking bars all night and then gave it to some random Aussi at the end..he was like 'well dudes, i don't even know how to play that thing, and i woulda given it to this chick, but that dude said he was a total SHREDDER' :)

fvcking classic!

oh man i know Berzerkr...that tune has haunted me since i was a tiny kid! i hate the big water anyway, it scares to fvcking sh!t out of me...and that song has some eerie fvcking lines in it

"Lake Huron rolls, and Superior sings, in the rooms of her ice-water mansion"

"Does anyone know where the Love of God goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?"

"...and every man knew, and the Captain did too, 'twas the Witch of November come stealing"

"When suppertime came, the old Cook came on deck and said 'Fellas its too rough to feed ya'....at 7 pm, a main hatchway caved in, and he said 'Fellas its been good to know ya!"

may not be metal, but that tune is a heavy, brooding, motherfvcker
