Symphony X Announces Title Of Upcoming Studio Album As "Iconoclast"

Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen has announced that the band has set "Iconoclast" as the title of its forthcoming eighth studio album. "Iconoclast" is set for release sometime later this year through the band's new label home Nuclear Blast Records.

Russell Allen commented on the album's progression by saying:

"We are in post-production, so the album is pretty much almost done. At this point, mixes are being wrapped up and finalized and it's off to mastering and should be ready for release in a few months — definitely first quarter of 2011. We've got the artwork all done, we're taking pictures next week... all that good stuff. So everything's on track for release pretty soon."

I doubt they listen to second rate metalcore bands - doesn't really phase me what the name is, looking forward to this one.

I enjoyed Paradise Lost but I'm hoping the new album is a little more diverse this time around. Going full metal for a couple of songs it's ok with me, but a whole album like that brings me to sleep.

They can call it "Thriller"or "Dark side of the Moon"for all I care......It's Symphony X!!!! Hello.......these guys are more talented than any other band in any other genre! Metal core/ Death core will be unfashionable just like nu metal has become, whereas Sympony X is timeless since 1995!

Seriously, they could call the album "Fun With Tomatoes" for all we care -- You can bet it would be one of the best damn albums there ever was about tomatoes. And fun.

I was REALLY hoping the album would be called "CHEEZ WHIZ CHEESECAKE" but I was sorely diappointed with their choice of title. OH WELL, Its still a first day purchase for me!!

@TheIronMan
Iconoclast is the name of the new album by The Damned Things, the supergroup which you left Every Time I Die out of.
It's surprisingly generic.

Who cares if it's an unoriginal name? It's Symphony X. It could be named Rainbows and Unicorns and still be completely badass

So I suppose they should have called the new album "People who attack cherished beliefs and/or institutions", for originality's sake
