Despite announcing plans to retire last month, British heavy metal act Judas Priest has revealed that the band is working on brand new material, with a brief statement posted on the band's website and Facebook page simply stating that work is proceeding well and more details will be revealed shortly. Judas Priest commented:
"As you may already be aware Priest have announced a fair well world tour beginning this summer, for details and dates please visit judaspriest.com. We are all excited about the tour and are currently having meetings to discuss the stage production, but above all the set list. We intend to include some classic priest songs that we haven't played before and of course the old favourites that every body will want to hear. Stay tuned for further updates. To put every ones mind at rest this is by no means the end of the band, in fact we are presently writing new material, but we do intend this to be the last major world tour."
The band will be heading across Europe this Summer performing at many of the continent's biggest festivals including Wacken Open Air and Graspop Metal Meeting.

This is gonna be Judas Priest last album. The last album that shows the reason why they've been the metal gods for 30 plus years. This better go out with a bang. I'm gonna have to resort to smoking crack cause I'm not gonna be able to wait this long for this album.
Their next album will be in response to the critics who hated their Nostradamus album. Just as Screaming for Vengeance was in response to poor reviews of Point of Entry, and Painkiller was in response to poor reviews of Ram it Down, their next album will a middle finger to those who didn't understand and hated Nostradamus.
This is definitely gonna be a great album. Painkiller is one of my favorites follow by Angel Of Retribution. Priest really wanted to show that they could come back strong when they released Angel Of Retribution. Nostradamus disappointed me but like Moloch said this album will most definitely not disappoint.
And I think they're gonna go out with the biggest bang ever.
