Inmate Checks In With Band Activity Update

Inmate has checked in with the following recap of 2010 events and announcement about upcoming activity:

"The year 2010 came to an end and we already entered the 2011. At the end of the year We usually look back at the past year to remember again all the great moments that happened to us and to learn from the mistakes we made. Some of the peaks of this year are definitely concerts in Austria, Germany and Croatia, summer open air festival concerts, being a part of Dark Tranquillity tour and entering the studio.

"But let us start at the beginning. We opened a concert season with our performance in Postojna (SI) at the beginning of February (Epic Rockline contest) where we proceeded into semifinals. Our next stop was a great concert in KMKC Kompleks in Ravne na Koroškem (SI) where we shared the stage with Brand New Idea and Device. Our second stop in March was Youth center Sežana where we performed with our metal brothers Necrotic and local band Kreation Kodex.

"In April we performed for the first time in Austria (Graz) where we attended Newcomer festival. Photos here. At the end of the month we again performed on a semifinal competition of Epic Rockline contest where we reached 2nd place. Kino Šiška (Ljubljana, SI) was our next stop in May. Performing at one of the best Slovenian venue's was really a great experience. The concert was actually a competition among 10 performing bands. Inmate was named as a band that with their performance really stepped out of all the participating bands and is definitely a band for big stages.

"We opened the summer open air concert tour with our performance at Rock Otocec (Otocec, SI) - one of the biggest Slovenian summer festivals at the beginning of July. It was really great to share the stage with such great names like Tarja, Noctiferia, Niet and many others. The next day we performed at Mladina's stage of Festival Lent (Maribor, SI) - the biggest Slovenian summer multicultural festival. Check some great photos from Rock Otocec and festival Lent here. Our last concert in July was at Graviton Fest which took place in our hometown Velenje (SI) where we shared the stage with our brothers in crime LastDayHere, Eyes of Solace, Decontrolled, Florian Hofer band. It was really a hell of a gig with temperatures on stage around 40 degrees Celsius. Inmate was officially the first band in Velenje who literally 'burned down the place' as the fire alarm turned on at the end of our performance.

"In August we attended Small fest (Šoštanj, SI) already for the 4th time. It was great to meet all old friends and to perform with such great bands as Aperion, Necrotic, Zippo and many others. Our last summer stop was festival Rock The Lake (St. Jakob im Rosental, AUT) where we shared the stage with great names, such as Sonic Syndicate, Caliban, Elvis Jackson, LastDayHere, Noctiferia and many more. In September we performed with our friends Aperion in Celje (SI). The concert opened local band DOT.

"Our next stop at the begining of October was Germany. We performed at two great venues: first in Heidelberg where we shared the stage with Cypecore and Eyes of Solace, and second on the Rock Show in Schwäbisch Hall. The peak of 2010 concert season was definitely being a part of 'Where death is most alive' tour of death metal legends Dark Tranquillity. We shared the stage in Zagreb (Cro) and Vienna (AUT). The official tour support band were Insomnium from Finland. In November we performed at our second home - Šmartno ob Paki (Slovenia) with legendary Slovenian band Chateau and local supports State Fiction and Glavna Enota.

"We visited Bluesiana Rock Cafe (Velden, AUT) at the begining of December and finished 2010 concert season at the Metelkova in Ljubljana (SI) where we shared the stage with Anaeroba, Vulvathrone, Sweet Sorrow and Septic Scum. There is an amazing year behind us. Sometimes we even wonder how did we reach everything eventhough we are still a band without his ID Card - an album. At this point we would like to thank everyone around us who support us and our work. There are too many of you to put you on a list but you know who you are. All the best in 2011!"
