Vocalist Greggor Williams and guitarist Todd Sanft of Vancouver progressive metal act Quartered sat down with Metalunderground.com to catch up on its recent activities following the release of its new album "Walks Like A Ghost." You can read the Metalunderground.com review for "Walks Like A Ghost" at this location and find out what the band has been upto by reading the interview below.

Cody B: So your new album, “Walks Like A Ghost,” has been out for a few months now. How has the response been to the record?

Greg: Its been really good! I don't know how to explain it. We put it out there and its gone world wide. We’ve had kids from the U.K, Australia, the Philippines and all down throughout the ‘States hitting us up and its really taken me and the band by surprise.

Todd: You never really know when you’re putting something out how people are going to react to it but its been great. The kind of response we got for the album so far has been amazing.

Cody B: “Walks Like A Ghost” takes the band in a new direction. Are you guys proud of the final product?

Greg: Yeah, I am. I feel alot more comfortable. I liked how the vocals sound on this record.

Todd: And we were all on the same page as a band for the first time in a long time and that made it alot easier to move forward and create this record. It has a good progression.

Cody B: You guys had the big, official CD release party for “Walks Like A Ghost.” How does it feel to finally give the album the launch it deserves?

Todd: We put alot of hard work and promotion into this record and it feels great. We got a visual crew on board with us and we really wanted to make it a very special night for us and for the fans.

Cody B: Quartered are headlining the Rickshaw Theater which has become Vancouver’s top venue for metal. How does it feel to share the same stage with bands like Katatonia, Enslaved, 3 Inches of Blood and Goatwhore?

Greg: To touch the same stage as some of metal’s bigger bands and bands that we look up to feels pretty good and is an honor for us. It means were going in the right direction.

Todd: Its awesome for sure.

Cody B: So what is the future looking like for Quartered in the months coming ahead?

Greg: We might take some time off, some down-time. We have a few smaller shows coming up though I think.

Todd: Yeah we have some shows coming up throughout British Columbia [Canada] in Kelowna and Vernon with some local bands out there. We’re hoping to do a few more tours in the upcoming year as well in Canada and then just tour, tour, tour across the world.

Cody B: So before we go I want to ask for all of your international fans; where can they pick up “Walks Like A Ghost?”

Todd: You can download it off iTunes for $10 or less, Cdbaby.com also has it and our record label Thorny Bleeder Records has it up on their website so google search them. Best Buy and Futureshop also have “Walks Like A Ghost” available for order!
