Perez Hilton as a credible news source/ anything? Good grief, the worst representative or example of the gay community are no talent windbag hacks like that periwinkle. ..
The St Johns story is tragic, an obvious college prank gone wrong...a shame

I agree with RTB.
Perez holds zero credibility in the gay community and is best left ignored.
However I still praise Kitty for at least speaking out.
It's not like Varg, Hellhammer, Faust or Benton are going to offer any words of wisdom concerning this matter.

Believe she may be referring to the suicide of a gay student at university of St Johns. ..his roommates a boy and a girl rigged up a camera either in the room or the computer...when his roommates were gone he apparently engaged in sex or a sex act with another male. ...roommates came back saw the footage and displayed it on the internet...kid finds out it was posted on the internet and allegedly jumped off the George Washington bridge. ...he still was in the closet and a freshman at St Johns. ..the story is still transpiring, they Haven't found a body as of Sunday, but apparently there was a witness. ...just a sad story in general

I go to Rutgers and this is exactly what happened. It's been all over the news here so we all know what really happened.

Tyler Clementi(the gay dude who jumped off the bridge)asks his roommate to give him the room for the night. His roommate assumes that he's having a girl over so the kids roommate left his webcam on, and from another person's room(I think on a differnt campus) he turned on his camera expecting to see him getting it in with a girl and inside is surprised to see his roommate kissing a dude.

So the next night he asks his roommate for the room again and this time he leaves the camera up again, and posts on his twitter "It's happening again. I dare you to go to my feed and watch this". So I guess long story short everyone found out this kid is into dudes and I guess he just jumped off a bridge because of it.

On a side note: All the girls in Kittie look like they could play football for the Chicago Bears. Yuck.

Korndogg: I actually think she's really pretty. A LOT prettier than some of the other girls in the band lol.

But to be on topic.. I think it's really cool that she's doing this. Agreeing with BrianMN, it's cool that people in the metal community aren't afraid to talk about this sh!t and be cool with it. And yes, we should hear statements from Gaahl and the other famous homosexuals in the metal community.

I'm in high school, still, and I have tons of gay friends who are teased and it hurts them A LOT. Because in some cases, they not only have to deal with the bullsh!t at school but then they have to go home and have to deal with their parents disowning them or treating them different because they're homosexual. My mom still won't accept the fact that I like to sleep with girls. Sure, I have boyfriends a majority of the time, but honestly I like girls also and LOVE to sleep with them. She just won't accept it and when I try to tell her, she denies it and says I'm lying.

Some people really take this stuff seriously. I'm one of those people. Just because a person is gay doesn't mean they're completely different from you. I've honestly had friends commit suicide because they were bashed for being gay.

And another thing, she is right. It doesn't get completely better as you get older but it does get much easier. I know this because of my ridiculously large amount of gay adult family members, haha.

Bullying behavior may include name calling, verbal or written abuse, exclusion from activities, exclusion from social situations, physical abuse, or coercion. Bullies may behave this way to be perceived as popular or tough or to get attention. Sometimes,a person is bullied because he is different. Like in the case of Tyler Clementi, he is said to be bullied because he is gay. Students nowadays are becoming unfair and mean to other students just because he or she is different. The Rutgers suicide has cast dark shadows across the pages of current-day news and sent the pupil body of the New Jersey institution of higher learning into mourning. And the chase continues. The Associated Press reports that Wei's lawful team insists upon their client's innocence. Wei, together with fellow student Dharun Ravi, is alleged to have sent their classmate into a death spiral after broadcasting his personal homosexual encounter live to the Web. Molly Wei and Dharun Ravi are up on charges of intrusion of privacy for the surreptitious video capture of their classmate.

They should really just get invasion of privacy, have to pay a fine, and be done with it. This story might be big to gays in america, but to be quite honest, it is very insignificant when you realize that this is the same old song and dance with our generation.

Kid gets bullied. Kid kills others or himself or both. Makes news for 2 months.

Virginia Tech? Columbine?

I do not approve of suicide. In fact I hate it. Someone so ignorant that they can just throw the gift of healthy life away...doesn't deserve my respect. Think of all the people who are terminally ill or starving who would kill to have a regular life like that guy did, and he just threw his away.

His problems are insignificant compared to others around the world who are starving, dying of cancer, or victims of genocide. Why not just transfer out? I'm aware he was a violinist, why not transfer to the University of Delaware? They have a very good music program to my knowledge.

Call me insensitive, but suicide victims get way to much credit then they deserve

I thought bullying was an act of aggression or abuse. I think we're seeing more crap getting wrapped up into this modern version just because it's in the news now. Passive agressive stuff like exclusion from activities, exclusion from social situations, or video taping activities does not seem like bullying to me. It may be invasion of privacy or something and is wrong, but that does not make it bullying. Exclusion from activities or social situation happens among all sorts of people, without the balance of power issues typically associated with bullying. Geeks will exclude jocks from their D&D sessions, etc. Metalheads are going to exclude preps from a group going to a concert most likely...

Sorry, I don't buy the wikipedia definition, whether it's the new, accepted definition or not. In light of the suicides it sounds like a way to villify more types of actions by applying a blatantly negative term to the behavior. Wrong is wrong, without the need to label it something that sounds terrible whether it's fitting or not.

In the end, crap like this really only really helps the media to further establish a ridiculous link between metal and suicide. Where and when does metal have ANYTHING to do with being gay/bi/lesbian/etc? At a gay metal night club? Give me a break. Why does the metal community have to step up and give support? Maybe the gay/lesbian/bi/etc community should? I guess that would be too obvious.

If Kittie wants to stand up for something on their own, fine. However, just because they are pretty much the only popular all-girl metal band doesn't mean they have the right to stand up and speak for an entire community.

As far as I'm concerned suicide is nothing more than cowardice and stupidity. And there is absolutely nothing metal about that. You can argue depression until you are blue in the face for all I care; I've been there, done that and bought the t-shirt.

If a person is weak enough to give up something as precious as their own life that easily, I'm not banking on them being much of a contributor to humanity. I figure we are better off without them.
