American heavy metal veterans Quiet Riot have announced that they will be returning this year to perform a headlining tour of the United States, their first since lead singer Kevin DuBrow sadly passed away in 2007. The lineup features drummer Frankie Benali, as well as guitarist Alex Grossi and bass player Chuck Wright, as well a new singer in the form of Mark Huff. The group consulted with DuBrow's mother before deciding on once again touring as Quiet Riot. The band will also be releasing a documentary in the future. You can hear re-recorded versions of some of the band's songs with Huff on vocals by heading to the band's official website.

The best Quiet Riot album was their self titled release in '89-'90 orso.. with Paul Shortino(Rough Cutt) on vocals.!
That guy's voice was amazing.!
I find it a bit strange that nobody except Benali will be original... Seems that even Carlos Carvasa didnt want to be part of this and will be staying with the reformed Ratt.! lol
Ah.. well thats a good enough reason I suppose.!
They certainly went through enough lineup changes over
the years but it seems that Benali has been the only continuous member.!?
After listening to the re-recorded tracks.. its almost spooky how much Huff sounds like DuBrow.!!
They hit so cal I'm there as far as a tour is concerned....this was my favorite 80s hair metal band...still can't believe Kevin's gone but glad to see they talked to his family about this first. ....a quiet riot ratt club tour would be fahqn awesome...every now and then I fire up there US festival 83 set up, relive some of the old days. ...
Oz, hope you do a Sunday old school on them as well....this story made my day....
For those of you who dont know , Mark Is a PROS PRO and when you hear him you will understand , He is one of the most grounded human beings on this planet and loves what he does !!! I can only say for myself I cant wait to see and hear QR , Hes not Kevin ... nor will he try to be , He will give QR the reverance it deserves ... and hopefully His own flare !
i'm sure the band will be able to carry on with a new singer, but i have listened to the new singer covering dubrow's vocals, and he just doesn't nail it. by the way, NONE of the original members of QR are present in the newest incarnation of this band. kevin dubrow was the only original band member when most of us (including me) finally heard them on "metal health".
Ok you have two guys, Frankie and Chuck, that were on the most important Quiet Riot release "Metal Health" and you have another guy who was in Kevin's favorite version of the
band and he was in it for five years. This is still Quiet Riot.
They will be playing the songs fans want to hear and doing them justice. Kevin would be proud, it's his legacy, why let it die with him. If AC/DC decided to call it quits after Bon Scot died there would've been no "Back In Black"...there are numerous examples of big bands moving on after losing members...it's about the music people...Long Live Rock!
Remembering the years go by watching Quiet Riot here in New Jersey, whether it was @ The Birch Hill Night Club or even Great Adventure,to replace that voice ..... well it's creepy but without Rudy Sarzo & Carlos Carvazo it's not exactly Quiet Riot.
Best of luck to Huff.
This is awesome news! one of my favorite bands of all time, i mean sure i was born in '92 and didnt live during the '80s and didnt get to see any of it, but this is by far the best music there ever was and will be! and to hear that riot is coming back just made my night!

This has weirded me out, I've been thinking the past few days how I should do a Sunday Old School article on these guys. Glad to see they're back. Returning with a new singer worked for Accept, hopefully it'll be good for Quiet Riot too.
