Liturgy Guitarist Bernard Gann Joins Flaming Tusk
New York City indie metal band Flaming Tusk has announced that founding guitarist Don Blood has left the band and been replaced by Bernard Gann of fellow NYC metal scene stalwarts Liturgy. Gann remains a member of Liturgy and will divide his time between the two groups.
Liturgy kicked off a European tour on September 4th in Denmark, and Flaming Tusk will resume writing new material and performing to support their current LP, "Old, Blackened Century," shortly after Gann's return from that tour.
Flaming Tusk was founded in 2008 by drummer Dumnorix Xristophage and guitarist Don Blood who were immediately joined by guitarist Zosimus, bassist Schneidaar and vocalist Stolas Trephinator. This lineup recorded a self-produced EP, "Abigail," and a full length album, "Old, Blackened Century," both on the independent High Water Media label. Blood's departure and Gann's arrival marks the first personnel change for the band.
