Satan's Host Posts Recording Studio Updates
Satan's Host has posted a series of studio reports online from the band's time recording new material in July and August at Flatline Studio. The updates from the band can be viewed below.
Satan's Host Studio Report #1 - July 28, 2010: Well today was a triumphant day in Flatline Studio with Dave Otero, we got the drums moved in, torn down, cleaned, fresh drum heads, and tuned, then set up. The kit then got mic'ed up and we commenced on click tracks. Half were done and ready for drum tracking tomorrow. The new Tama kit sounds amazing, like bells from Hell! Patrick Evil did the click tracks with his brand new Schecter 8 string beast, this guitar has a phenomenal tone!
Satan's Host Studio Report #2 - July 31, 2010: Thursday we finished the click tracks and the last of the prep of the drumset, then I laid down two of the tracks and that was it for the day. Friday I did 6 more tracks and that was it. Everything is sounding very tight, I have alot of new drum patterns and beats that were fun to do, had a great time working with Dave, everything went very smooth, Dave knows how to get the performance out of you.
Satan's Host Studio Report #3 - August 9, 2010: I finished up all the Drums on Tuesday morning, Aug. 3, drum edits were done the rest of Tuesday and Wednesday, all the guitars were done on Thursday and Friday. Everything just sounds so fresh and tight, we are progressing a little ahead of schedule so things are working out great for the project.
This time around we came into the project very rehearsed and prepared. Dave Otero let both me and Pat know that we we're very much on top of our game, we gave blistering performances and the results are way beyond what we expected. All you can do is go in there and give 666%
Satan's Host Studio Report #4 - August 15, 2010: Well last week we got all the guitars tied up, bass wrapped up, and started laying vocals. Patrick Evil's final guitar solos were shredding and on fire, just when you think that Evil has done it all, he comes up with these blistering solos, he truly is amazing. Margar came in with so much fire, he nearly burned Flatline down, he added a whole new dimension to our sound, tho he is a finger player, he can grind with the best of pick players easily!
Harry came in with his bag of tricks and has had us all floored during his sessions, I thought he was gonna shatter all the windows at Flatline, Harry is really bringing something special to the table. All in all the whole project has just been flowing with no negativity, we all came in and put it all out on the table, the way we work it is at way higher level than we have ever been and it is very natural for us. This coming week we wrap up vocals, start re-amping, then its mix down time!
