American thrash metal legends Megadeth has announced that they will be releasing a new live DVD/CD/Blu Ray on September 7th. The release is entitled, "Rust In Peace Live!" and features the band performing their classic album, "Rust In Peace" from start to finish at the Hollywood Palladium, along with a number of other songs from their extensive back catalogue.

Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine commented: "We are pumped to be able to share the RIP Live concert with you all around the world. The anniversary and David Ellefson coming back was better than a facelift and a bottle of Viagra for old Vic."

The tracklisting is as follows:

"Holy Wars...The Punishment Due"
"Hangar 18"
"Take No Prisoners"
"Five Magics"
"Poison Was The Cure"
"Tornado Of Souls"
"Dawn Patrol"
"Rust In Peace...Polaris"

Bonus Content:
"Skin O’ My Teeth" (Countdown To Extinction)
"In My Darkest Hour" (So Far, So Good… So What!)
"She-Wolf" (Cryptic Writings)
"Trust" (Cryptic Writings)
"Symphony Of Destruction" (Countdown To Extinction)
"Peace Sells" (Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?)

I will buy this, but I wonder why Dave did not include Headcrusher & the Right to go Insane. I was at the show and they played both of those songs but they are not on the DVD?!?!?!? Also, Testament opened the night playing all of "The Legacy" and I would have loved for that to have been included as well.

have you bothered listening to united abominations or endgame? or are you just another "mustaine sucks" mindless lemming following a baseless hipster trend? my guess is the latter, but you're as entitled to your opinion as i am, even if you give no basis for it.

I hate to say this but it must be said....Megadeth have done a complete 360 with there music. but there the type of band that will release a GREAT CD and then a release a Medeocre CD since RIP came out let me show...
1. Countdown to Extinction - Good but Too comercial
2. Youthanasia - maybe 1 0r 2 good songs but the rest of this CD not that great.
3. Cryptic Writings - Again Good Cd is very listenable.
4. Risk - The title says it all SUCKED!!!
5. The world needs a Hero - There are a couple of great songs on this CD about as good as Cryptic Writings.
6. The System has Failed - Problebly the Best thing Dave & Co. have done since RIP.
7. United Abominations - Again maybe 1 or 2 songs are good on this CD but not there best Effort.
Endgame - this ranks right up there with RIP and The System has failed.

As for Live CDs I really can't rate them along with there studio releases but a will say Rude Awakening is a good live CD the only problem with it (for me) was the sound Quality was not that great and as for the Alive and Well E.P. or CD (Which ever you wanna call it ) was nothing more than a Moneymaker or filler completely no need for them to release this.
