Metalunderground.com brings you the exclusive premiere of technical death metal band AEON's new music video for the song "Forgiveness Denied." The song is off the band’s new release, "Path of Fire" (reviewed here), that just dropped in the states on May 25. The music was directed, filmed and edited by Standard Film Team Umeå HB and was shot in April in two different locations; band scenes being filmed in Östersund, Sweden and the storyline in Umeå, Sweden.
Guitarist Daniel Dlimi comments on the theme of the song and video: "There have been a lot of scandals revealed lately, regarding priests (especially catholic ones) who have been abusing children sexually. In my world, there is nothing more innocent than a child, and the ones who abuse a child sexually will never be forgiven. In my opinion, they deserve to die a horrible, painful death. We want to dedicate this song/video to them, the filthy fucking priests who have laid a hand on a child sexually; we hate you, and want you dead."

I kinda dug the song (aside from the vocals) and the skills are undeniable, but when a self proclaimed "satanic metal band" gets preachy I just have to laugh. I don't care how cool and creepy the videos are, or how much blood and violence you cram into your act, it still rings as hollow and fake as anything by A7X or BFMV
I agree they have more musical talent. I just find it funny that a satanic band would write a song condemning evil acts. I couldn't understand any of the lyrics so maybe I missed what they were trying to say in the song and maybe there's a faction of satanism that has a different interpretation of the religion than I'm used to, but it seems pretty ironic to me. Maybe a better comparison is Mustaine and his conversion to christianity after a career of violent and aggressive lyrical posturing. Just kinda feels fake.
The more I play the clip the more I like the song. I'm not disagreeing with their premise of Catholic priests being scumbags. I thought satanists came down on the side of evil in the whole good vs evil debate and would therefore embrace the sickness and perversion of the aforementioned scumbags :D

Swedish satanic death metallers AEON have posted the first song, "Kill Them All," of their upcoming new album "Path Of Fire" on the band's MySpace page.
Guitarist Zeb Nilsson comments on the song, "This is kind of funny, cause I actually dreamt that we were performing this song live and it sounded so cool that I had to start working on it the day after I had the dream. Of course all the details in it were not in my dream, but the whole concept and idea behind how it was gonna sound was all very realistic. This is a very fast song and it is easy to catch I think. It has some really heavy parts too, and the leads on it ended up really cool too. I think this song will be a good first sample of this album!"
AEON recorded Path Of Fire in Sweden while it was mixed by multi-talent Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal) at Mana Studio in Florida. Mastering was done by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
Apologies to the band if indeed their label was not self proclaimed.
Either way, it's a cool tune and I bookmarked their myspace to get a bigger sampling. I've never been a big fan of music labels and genre stereotypes so it never carries much weight with me until I listen and get a feel for the music itself. Another reason MU keeps me comin back. They're always gettin me into sh** I wouldn't have otherwise sought out nor been aware of.
50: Without generes, I wouldn't know how to shop my local music store/scene. To me, it's kinda like cheese. I like cheddar and mild cheddar, but I hate sharp cheddar (no offence to sharp cheddar lovers). If the package just said "Cheese" I would be apprehensive about buying it because there are so many types of cheese that I wouldn't know where to start. Embrace genre labels young paddawan. Lol.
Demise: Yeah, I had a good one i've been saving up for a while, but it was directed at a spammer so DB deleted it. I've been drinkin today so i'm kind of on a roll. lol.
