Ferox Canorus Posts Video Guitar Lesson of New Song, "Abandon," Online
Guitarist Dan Sorber of New Jersey progressive metal band Ferox Canorus has posted a video lesson on their song "Abandon." The video is the first part of a series entitled "Riffology." Watch the video at this location.
Dan Sorber comments on the episode, "Abandon is a progressive metal meets Iron Maiden style of song; covering everything from atmospheric violin style melodies, melodic solos, aggressive riffing and sheer speed metal madness. In this episode we cover the interlude riff. This particular idea makes a great alternate picking exercise but I also let you see, in part, how I organize the fretboard. What lies beneath the riff is a great, melodic approach to writing riffs."
