Behemoth’s recent album “Evangelion” has received high praise from both fans and critics since its release in August 2009, even seeing the band break out into the mainstream in it’s native Poland. Now it has been bestowed with official recognition of it’s huge success, as the band received nominations in five categories at the Polish Grammy Awards (known as “Fryderyki” in Poland). “Evangelion” won in the “Best Heavy Metal Album” category. Frontman Nergal commented on the award:
“There are different priorities we care about and hunt for and awards is the last on this list, I can assure you. However, we are happy that someone noticed our hard work and determination and this award is proof that 'Evangelion' definitely made a statement! We couldn’t be more proud of this record. Thank you for voting.”
