Megadeth is going to play a free show tonight (Wednesday, March 17) for last night's ticketbuyers. Doors will be at 7 P.M., the show will be at 8 P.M. Ticketholders from last night's show can pick up tickets for tonight at Will Call by presenting valid ID. Check the Rams Head Live! website for details.

Dave Mustaine has issued the following update:

"Last night was a difficult night for me, Megs, and for our sold-out audience of Megadeth fans in the great city of Baltimore.

"You see, we were plagued with equipment failures, the ensuing delays getting on-stage (Axl Rose, I am NOT), and the lack of intelligence of the fan who was convinced that throwing his beverage on the console, thus ending our second attempt at taking the stage last night, was an intelligent thing to do.

"In other words, it was the end of the evening for me and for Baltimore.

"Alas, Megaman to the rescue!

"Late last night I was informed of the availability of the venue the following evening, meaning tonight, and I agreed to stay another night here in Baltimore and to try to play this venue one more time.

"If you have a ticket from last night, please check here to see how to proceed tonight.

"Thank you for your understanding, and I want to also thank the building, its staff, the security, the promoter and his staff, and most importantly . . . YOU. I will see you tonight!"

Wow... anyone at this show? I'd like to hear about how this went down.

I guess it's pretty cool they did everything they could to make it up to the fans by playing tonight- I just hate hearing stories like this. I'm flying across the country to see them, and they have only one night to impress. Work those kinks out in the beginning of the tour!

I hope there aren't any morons at the show in Scranton. I'm driving almost 3hrs, getting a hotel room, and taking off from work the day after. Anybody else going to the Scranton show? I haven't heard if it sold out or not.

Exodus and Testament' sound was fine. I'm not sure it was all Ram's Head fault (if at all). And for the fan that dumped beer on the soundboard? That's just not true. No fan did this. I was standing pretty close to the soundboard and it was really out of the way from any beer cups being thrown. I was right there and the crappy little soundboard they had was untouched (I checked before I left). After the third song, Dave mumbled something about the bad sound and split. It was VERY obvious the band was not coming back. It was Dave Mustaine's anger over not having everything sound perfect (BTW, if it was me onstage, I'd feel the same way!). I understand his anger but it was handled all wrong. Many fans could not return the next night (little thing called WORK).

This was the third time I've seen Megadeth and guess what? THEY HAD SOUND PROBLEMS EVERY TIME! This is nothing new. I think its B.S. that they made up the story about beer on the soundboard. That did not happen.

I was at both shows and I heard about the incident from different parties on both nights. The first night I was standing next to Megadeth's sound guy and he explained that, while playing the intro, the initial PA system that they were using blew out (which was pretty evident to everyone given the horrible racket coming out of the speakers). I could see it on his monitor too, cause I was close enough to see the console; The mixer WAS working but pretty much all of the bass frequencies were non-existent. Then they decided to hook everything up to the house mixer and after about 45 minutes Megadeth took the stage. It was immediately evident that the sound was lacking, I mean EVERYBODY noticed. It sounded like Megadeth but there was just not enough punch in the sound to cut through the crowd chatter. They played "Set The World Afire", "Wake Up Dead" and "In My Darkest Hour". In the middle of IMDH the bass would all of a sudden get REALLY loud and extremely distorted. After they finished Dave said something like, and keep in mind this is coming from my memory and I couldn't hear him very well anyways, "Since this is a never ending f***ing night, let's just skip the best part." All of the band proceeded to walk of the stage. The sound guy then said that some fan decided to throw a beer onto the console effectively ending the show. That was the end of that night

The next night I was standing in line and I struck up a conversation with the couple behind me and according to them, it was not a fan who threw water on the console but it was Rams Head's own sound guy who accidentally spilled water on the console and apparently was fired for that. Then I saw Megadeth and they did not play "Wake Up Dead" or "Set The World Afire" from the previous night and played "Skin O' My Teeth" and "She-Wolf" instead. But you could definitely tell the sound was MUCH better on the second evening. And they kicked ass!

I had heard on two accounts that water was spilled on the console. Whether or not this is true, I don't know, but it really did sound to me like water was involved. The bass got very loud but heavily distorted, which to me, makes sense due to water being a poorer conductor of electricity than pure metal but also has the tendency to bridge gaps between circuits. The bass could've been bleeding over to other channels that had distortion applied which was not designed for bass which could account for the almost fuzz sound coming from the bass.

On the second night, Dave mentioned something about putting peoples' heads in vices for not letting them play good music. He then said there was one person in particular he'd like to squeeze tight. I have no idea who he was referring to though. I thought maybe it was his agent or manager for not letting them play with sh**ty sound.

He then said "it shouldn't be so hard to play music", and proceed to kick ass. On the second night, the show rocked.

Ah... judging from this video, I'm guessing it was the promoter. I couldn't understand what he said until now.
