"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Amalgama Parts Ways With Guitarist Nate Schied

New York metallers Amalgama have issued the following statement about parting ways with their lead guitarist:

"For all those who were present for our last headlining show at The Dublin Underground on March 3rd you were witness to Amalgama lead-guitarist Nate's last live performance with the band. It's been a wild few years playing shows with Nate - first playing bass and then moving to his preferred instrument and skill-set: lead guitar - but he's decided to focus on another one of his passions working in the live entertainment field behind the mixing board. We can still remember Nate splitting his head open on a cymbal during a show in Worchester, MA during a rather intense headbanging session while onstage! He's a man of few words but when he opens his mouth its usually to imbue the rest of us with some wisdom & level-headed thinking. His presence will be missed.

"Fear not, metal-faithful. Nate's departure won't slow us down one bit. We've been working with a new player who will hopefully make his presence and identity known in the coming weeks in a changing of the guard of sorts. Stay tuned and watch for pictures from Saturday and Sunday's recording session! We'll be twittering (is that even a word?) and uploading pictures all weekend. Until then, stay metal."
