Dragonforce Confirms Split with Vocalist ZP Theart
Band Photo: Dragonforce
Yesterday Roadrunner Records issued a statement that Dragonforce had parted ways with their vocalist ZP Theart, and then removed the posting. Dragonforce has now issued the following statement on their MySpace page confirming the split:
"It is with great regret that DragonForce announce a parting of the ways with singer ZP Theart. This is due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion but the rest of the band sincerely wish ZP great success with his future projects. While the creative core members have begun writing the fifth album, they have also started a worldwide search for a new vocalist. 'We are looking for a powerful melodic singer, to write a new chapter of DragonForce with us.' said guitarist Herman Li. Anyone wishing to audition for the vacant position should apply following the instructions at this web address."

dude, ripper would be a great vocalist for that band. He was great with Iced Earth, and also with Judas Priest. Such an underrated vocalist. If the rest of the band can refine their instruments, and maybe work on cleaning up it's guitars, then they could once again be a tour de force of power metal. ZP has alot of potential, but i think that it wouldn't be horrible to bring in a new vocalist. Maybe then people won't think I'm a tool for liking Dragonforce. And for all you haters, I've seen them live, and they can play their solos well. Not my favorite band by any means, but they get way more sh** then they deserve...
^ Uh yeah dude, whatever. I've seen 'em too dude, Ozzfest 06, and I gotta say, biggest joke I've ever witnessed. First of all, live, they sound nothing like they do on the record, not even close. Which straight up proves that they use a lot of magical recording tricks to get their sound. Secondly, way too drunk, they played like sh**. I mean, I'm all for cracking a few brews to get ya in the zone, lotta bands do it but these guys were f***in' overboard sh**faced, "oh I'm so cool I drink JD onstage look at me". And on top of all that it was the corniest thing I've ever seen, they got fans set up blowing their hair, little trampolines to practice their gymnastics. If I wanted to see clowns I'd go to the circus.
Sorry for my little hate speech by the way, I'm really not trying to be a d***head this is just how I feel.
I missed the JD on stage antics, maybe they went seabas and it was really ice tea like in supergroup.....if they were sh!tface while playing, i d check em out again, always could use a good laugh...
Only band ive seen live that was in between drunk and hammered that played well were children of bodom and they were awesome live
Good luck to the force
blind---i don't think Owens crap writing agrees with ANYone's material...
the guy's lyrics and arrangements are abyssmal....really bad quality...though he does have a great voice, if you're into that pitchy/screechy style of halford emulation.
but i agree...Soto would be the PERFECT match for these Steel Dragon (force) cheese d!cks
Spaghetti Motel, I think it depends what show you saw. When I saw them live, I agree that the hair thing was kinda cheezy, and the sound quality isn't as good as in the studio. I was only pointing out that they were able to play the same as they do in the studio. They don't speed up their solo's, they don't use a drum machine. I was there in person, and although the guitar tone and sound quality definetly could have been better, they played as ridiculously fast as they do in the studio. I mean, if you listen to any of the Dragonforce albums, it's quite clear that they do alot of weird, unorthodox stuff with the mixing. I mean, if Dragonforce just play normal live, then they sound like a regular power metal band. The Dragonforce sound is supposed to be Studio based. The show I went to, they were somewhat drunk but it didn't really affect their performance. They were very upbeat and into it. I understand how some people hate them, because their music has a very electronic, studio like quality to it, but I think they are a great band never the less and this is coming from someone who listens to basically every subgenre of metal.
spaget-motel, hell ya.... nothing to due with the crap topic, but holy sh** man!
Holdin' down the metal fort in the North country...the land of the stone's, dall's, and their intermingling fannins...and probably some of the finest terrain on earth...yessir!
