#7, your comment about not understanding everyone's love for Mastodon on another thread comes to mind for me here...I feel the exact same way about CC. Amazing talent potential but every song sounds the same (to me) and every song is about butchering or mutilating someone or something. How does that not get boring? I will never understand.
post #15, I can see how non-stop lyrics bout killin' and butchering sh** up could get a little stale, but the thing is and I'm sure most cannibal fans would agree with me on this is that it's not about the lyrics, the lyrics are secondary to the music itself. I know cannibal for a majority of their career have put more emphasis on the rythmic pattern of the vocals rather than the actual lyrics, especially since corpsegrinder became the vocalist. And the reason they've always gone with the gorey lyrics is simply just to match the intensity of the music, which is what it's all about. Mind you this IS just my opinion. And on the subject of all their songs sounding the same, dude listen to Skull full of Maggots and then give Bloodthirst a listen, it's like night and day, they sound nothing alike.
