Moongarden Working on New Album
Moongarden are working on their new studio album, titled "Round Midnight". Here's an update from the band: ""We had an heavy recording session yesterday. David played his guitar like never before: Very hard rock and aggressive! His new Gibson Vintage guitar (The Angus Young one hehe) is very powerful! So, some songs like: Wounded, Lucifero and Killing The Angel , now seems more rock & heavy oriented. It was very fun! The Sun goes down and David take his new Guitar to play the distorted parts in Lucifero when the sky has turn darker and darker. During his performance in this "damned" song we had the chance to hear some thunders in the distance!!! WOW! What a great moment! I hope this atmosphere will be present in the final product. Yes, time for some technical infos.
David had the idea to connect his new Gibson to a Leslie (the Hammond organ same one) for a very vintage feeling and its sound great. Some rhythm parts in Killing The Angel are made with an original sixties Fender Amp and a Tremolo/Volume effect. The Solos have the Classic David Cremoni's sound, very close to Latimer as you know. The last note is about the Twelve strings acoustic guitar insert in a DI Box and directly in the mixer board for some arpeggios in Lucifero. We had a discussion with Luca Palleschi about the "Rock & heavy" sound in Killing The Angel. Luca says that it's too much heavy and suggest David to change the rhythmic from Gibson to his usual Fender to obtain a sound much closer to "Forever Chained" (The Gates of Omega), so we'll try in the next days. Well, David at least have one little fear. To be unrecognizable in the final product but I think his solos are a very Moongarden trademark! So don't worry David!"
