Huldrefolk Comments On Allegations Of Nazi Ideology

Huldrefolk has issued the following statement regarding allegations of Nazi ideology due to performing with national socialist black metal bands:

"We were wondering how much drama is made for a gig we will do in Roermond, together with Temnozor. Therefore this message. Actually for the sake of security, Dutch police already screened us and we are NOT GUILTY of any extreme politic view.

"1. We are a non-political band. The first guy who proves that HULDREFOLK is political, can have free candy and milkshake. - To prove we are not political, I will soon publish ALL OUR LYRICS. Very much people also ask for it, so you can have it.

"- You have NO POINT AT ALL to say we're political because we played with NSBM-bands. If you do so, start calling every pagan metal band satanic because they played with satanic bands. It's not if you play with them, you respect their ideology.

"- Our concept is about bad medieval times and plague. Start reading a history book, nazi's lived +500 years after.

"- We all have different visions and thoughts in our band, like any other band. We live in a society with freedom of speech, I thought, so there's nothing wrong with that. Although, NOT ONE opinion is shared into the band and concept of HULDREFOLK. Also not any political view of us is promoted by interviews or lyrics consciously.

"2. WE DO HATE NAZI'S

"- Especially if they want to shut mouths of people who think different. There MUST be freedom of speech without any exception, respect it!

"- This situations makes me think to Germany early thirties. Where gatherings of people who have other opinions were brutally offended by nazi's. Stop acting like this, you're fighting against your own principles (you should have these of course). You like the fact that people starting to hate you when you do that? What will be next?

"- The more you complain about nazi-ghosts, the more nazi's you create. Think about it, get a life and a shower if possible.

"3. WE WILL CONTINUE AND PLAY WITH WHO AND WHERE WE WANT - It's a human right, I'm sorry if I say you're offending it.

"4. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE FREE PROMOTION - Views on MySpace are going up again by your actions, thanks!

"Also we would like to show our respect and courage to Azijnfabriek, Xander and Marcel. The show will go on and this would be a turning point in Metal Underground. For once organisors are not shitting their pants for some so-called "actions" of fascists! Sorry, I meant 'anti'-fascists."

The "show" in Roermond have been cancelled. The stupid dutch police says that you are a naziband. And de owners of de azijnfabriek dusnt whant a band with racial background playing there. But i think that the police is scared that the afa will protest, and everyone knows that those f***ers never protest with pride, but only with fights.

Sorry for my bad English

If you have nothing to do with NSBM, why you are part of this group?

Oh yes, maybe you are just innocent Vlaamse patriots.

If you play with bands like Temnozor, means that you don't care about their nazi lyrics. It means you tolerate bands that promote hatred towards races.

Point 1 is right to some extent. The main focus being "don't care." Point 2 is really dumb logic. By that logic, straightedge bands shouldn't play with non-straightedge bands because they are somehow supporting or "tolerating" a lifestyle that they do not beleive in themselves. Vegans should never play with meat eaters. Christians should never play with pagan or satanic metal bands. How dare they! Any member of the above groups could get their panties in a bunch about bands who share their beliefs playing with bands who don't, but it's quite frankly assinine. Let's just remember they are PLAYING MUSIC on the same bill (not even "together" in the strictest sense of the word) with these other bands. Not going to a KKK or skinhead meeting with them, or whatever.

Don't get me wrong, Nazi-ism has every right to be villified and decried, but the logic just doesn't hold up, and people seem to have no problem making accusations of the worst kind just because they themselves are offended that anyone would "tolerate" such beliefs enough to play the same gig with such a band. Just because Dave Mustaine picks his tour mates based on beliefs doesn't mean it's accepted (or even good) practice for everyone else.

@ K666: I don't know if you're familiar with this last.fm-thing, but if you are, you should know that these "groups" are created by random kids from that "community" who have no clue of what they are doing. If you really have to believe in the purpose of this group, that would mean that almost every Flemish black metal band would be NSBM,... quite silly don't you think? I don't know if you're just plain stupid or naive, but I guess you know that bands like Paragon Impure, Gotmoor, Dead Inside, Kludde, Toorn,... are in no way connected to NSBM, even if this group might suggest so.
