"some music was meant to stay underground..."

LastDayHere Wishes Fans A Happy New Year And Issues Year End Recap

Slovenia's LastDayHere has posted a video message wishing fans a happy new year, which can be viewed after the jump. The band also issued the following end-of-year recap:

"When it comes to LastDayHere, there is needless to say that we enjoyed every moment of the year 2009. In fact, we could repeat it all over ;o) If we just think back and bring out the feeling that we had while standing on the stage at the presentation of the video ‘Saved From Falling’… Wow, it was so hard to keep the video a secret – we were so proud of it and wanted to show it to the whole World! The preparation of the event was a really intense period for all of us. It meant changing our songs from the ‘From Pieces Created’ into acoustic form and adding the classical instruments. Thanks to all our friends, that accepted the invitation and joined us on the stage, that night will definitely stay in our memories even when we are old and senile.

"2009 meant a significant breakthrough for LastDayHere. It was the first time our music was played on MTV Adria. You can imagine our faces when we saw that ‘Saved From Falling’ was played on daily rotation and out of nowhere we got on the MTV Adria’s Rock Chart where we got as high as 6th place and the video stayed in the chart for full 14 weeks! We would like to thank to everyone that voted for us and got us this high. At first we thought we are dreaming, since we didn’t even have the guts to hope for something like that… But we were there, together with big names of international music scene… And that meant so much to us…

"The video really opened many doors for us. We finally got what the whole band wanted and what we all dreamed of – a real tour! We joined forces with the Dutch metal band Delain during their European tour. Playing with awesome musicians like Delain was an experience none of us will ever forget. If we thought we were like brothers before this tour, this week of being stuck in a van only brought us closer. And as our manager said, we are born for this – playing for big masses of people, meeting lots of our friends from MySpace in person, spending some quality time with our equipment and crew members in a van, while cruising across Europe… What else could we want more?!? All that great feedback from everyone who was at out shows was the best thing we've experienced so far. This really gave us a boost to continue what we're doing. And the laughs… We almost gained strong facial muscles from all the laughter ;o)

"Playing on festivals in Slovenia, where we really got the crowd going and seeing people singing our songs with us it was an inspiration that grew so intense and suddenly new songs came pouring out… We spent more and more time at the rehearsal place and despite the fact that we had couple of songs done from before, we decided to make fresh material for the next record. In between shows in Holland, Belgium, Germany and Austria, we almost moved to our rehearsal place… Changed the ‘old’ new songs to make them sound even more kickass than before and started with new ideas. Let us just say, that the things we started to create sounded so awesome that we spend 4 hours in our rehearsal place just playing and headbanging to one song that we made... How crazy is that?!? We fell so into it that in the end we all had sore necks ;o)

"We gladly accepted the invitation to join Delain for the shows in Holland… Let us just say, that this was beyond all our expectations. Not just that one of the shows was sold out and people already waiting at the venue early in the afternoon, the energy at the shows was simply beyond everything we've ever experienced. This was probably when we all figured out we could do this for all of our lives. We simply fell in love with Holland and never wanted to go back home.

"It wasn't long when we returned. The first time we drove there, the 16 hour drive really exhausted us, but the second time it was a routine. This time we got to stay there for a week and do a special acoustic show at the party that was organized by our friends and supporters. It took place at the mansion of our dear friend Ruthy and she made us feel really welcome. Couple of days later we went to Belgium for a show with Black Stone Cherry. The venue was packed, we were really happy to see that a lot of our friends from Holland came to see us too. It was our first time doing a gig in Belgium and let us just say that those guys and girls really know how to party :o)

"It was actually during the time of the show with Black Stone Cherry, we found out about our next gig… LastDayHere joined forces with ‘jackass’ CKY in the famous Melkweg venue in Amsterdam. It was simply amazing hearing about that and once again we got our gear together and drove towards Holland. This time it really felt like vacation. Every time we get back to Holland it feels great to see all of our friends again. They've really given us a lot of support and we appreciate it really much. Besides all the love that we get every time we see our dear friends, seeing the whole venue rocking out to our songs was the biggest ‘thank you’ we could ever get.

"So here we are… The year 2009 is almost over. Let us just tell you that we have a lot of surprises ready for 2010. Some of you may have already heard some of them on the Xmas Rocks show last weekend in Austria. Well we have lots more to come :o) At this point we'd like to thank everyone who helped us to get LastDayHere where we are now – friends, families and everyone that worked their asses off… Including each and everyone in the band, the crew that helped us out before and at the shows, management and partners across Europe, each and every band that joined us in our adventure and especially to all of YOU, our dear friends here on MySpace – some of you we already met, some we still will... We really appreciate it!!! Without you we couldn't have achieved this. We wish all of you a merry Christmas and a happy and successful New Year. Be ready for more LastDayHere in 2010. We love you all!!!"

LastDayHere wishes you a Happy New Year 2010!!
