"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Zemial To Potentianlly Stop Playing Live Tour Dates

Zemial front man Vorskaath has issued the following announcement about tentatively ending all plans to play live shows:

"After some years of touring and presenting the music of Zemial live, I have come to tentatively decide that our show at the Hells Pleasure festival this past July 2009 was the last Zemial show for the foreseeable future. Embracing everything that change signifies, I rarely make such unexceptional statements; hence I would caution you that this is subject to change when and if the conditions are ripe.

"What I have with certainty decided, is that a return to the stage would only be plausible from my side if I am to find a line-up of musicians above the ‘norm’ standard found in metal, who are technically able and willing to push the borders of this music style. I find no interest in playing Zemial’s music without offering any new musical explorations and resting upon any reputation we may have developed as a live band. My waning concern in presenting something with Zemial requires a kindling of the sort that only comes from change and from that which is new.

"The album NYKTA is still heavily under consideration and a sample of the album will be uploaded on this page presently. Beyond that album, I will either breathe life into this music style with something new and oppose the ‘standards’ or put Zemial to rest. I will continue recording for various bands, (metal and otherwise) focus on my other music projects and bring Alpha Centauri back to life and activity. If Zemial remain is something to be seen. All this, in search of connecting with Music. Music – the gift of the Gods and nothing less – remains paramount in my priorities.

"?eavy Metal was, upon its inception, something new and different, in direct opposition to the established commercial musical standards of the time. Sadly, it only took a few decades before that approach was stifled by the masses who eagerly partook in cannibalizing everything that this music stood for, forcing its values and musicianship to being secondary to the image! The image - unquestionably the most important element for succeeding in this music style these days. Musicians in this music scene no longer seem to develop an individual style or even a basic ability to play their instrument. Instead, they spend that precious time cultivating their image, which will successfully cover any discrepancies arising from their musical ineptness. That is not to say that there are NO individuals pursuing this Way of Music. Of course there are. Incredibly however, they have become the minority. From this 21st century circus I distance myself and continue to seek Music.

Reading these words I must admit that I did not set-out to write such a message tonight - by far.
However, it so came to be and I feel it corresponds to the present way of things with Zemial, it makes for a good December 2009 update and an adequate 20 year review of sorts. Three in one : )

"In closing this part, I would like to confirm that I will, as promised, re-release our entire back-catalogue in high quality and at reasonable prices. This will make the music affordable and attainable for everybody, it will shake off the ‘cult release’ status that forces prices to ridiculous highs and it will put a stop to the countless shameless bootleggers that feed upon a fan‘s desire to listen to and obtain the music of bands they enjoy.

"Further on, as some of you already know, I operate my own project-studio facility, namely ‘Studio 9’. I have been recording, mixing and mastering various music projects since 2007, with Zemial’s ‘I am The Dark’ single being the latest release to come out of Studio 9.

"As I increase and upgrade the studio equipment and facility, the availability of physical space is becoming an important consideration toward further expansion. Hence, I am offering part of my collection of instruments and studio equipment for sale..... That is in addition to several rarities and double copies of albums, singles & t-shirts, from my personal trading collection that I have no space for. Those interested in obtaining any of those titles and/or equipment are very welcome to write to me directly for a list and to make an offer. If you have studio equipment you wish to trade or sell, I would also be happy to hear from you. Feel free to write to: zemial (@) turelur . de

"On a very positive note, I wish to honestly thank all of you who have followed my music for these past 20 years through these deeper and deeper underground curves. To those who continue to show their support through buying my music and getting in touch to show their support - I thank you. It is people with opens minds like you that make this a pleasure."
