Summon a second to that reply. French and some non-corporate Amerikan metal is getting realllly good. In fact, I fear for Norway with the sheer amount of good, crazy, dark blackness oozing from the existential orifice of the angst-driven bowels of our culture. Sweden and Finland have nothing to fear. Their music still rules over mallcore anyday, and real instrumentalists can see. However, industrial elements meeting back metal?? See Spektr and Blut aus Nord for instance. Then look at some of the metal like Wolves in the Throne Room evolving in the Amerikan culture, and realize that 8 years of Bush means we're getting f***ed up the a$$ and we're getting angry enough to yell about it. And the French?? They're always p***ed off. I know purists are going to argue with this, but the extreme blackness of metal meets the darkwave industrial psychosis of industrial is something I have been waiting for... And I am not disappointed. f***ing Euronymous better be clapping his hands from the lake of fire, man, this is gonna be big! (but f*** him, he wouldn't understand :)
