Evergrey Reject Progressive Label

Despite being on a highly regarded progressive rock/metal label in InsideOut, Evergrey's Tom S. Englund dismissed that categorization of the band, "...we're not a prog-metal band. We're more of a straight-up metal band. We have some progressive tendencies, but we're not even close to Dream Theater or Symphony X in terms of musical ability or writing tricky parts. We don't think that way at all. We make music that satisfies ourselves and music we want to listen to ourselves." Read the entire interview, including talk about their new album Recreation Day.
