That's the whole point of streaming the album online for a week or so prior to release - to avoid torrents. People justify illegal downloading to themselves by saying that they don't know if they will like an album enough to drop the money. Well there you go, listen to it on MySpace while its there and then make a decision instead of illegally downloading it. Its one way that record labels are trying to combat downloading, although it probably won't work, as thieves will just find another justification in their head for stealing other people's work.

I hope Hetfield listens to this and thinks "..man, Death Magnetic was pretty lame." I dig it, easily best Megadeth album since RIP.
But personally I hate when bands release albums early on myspace - it makes the release date and buying the album so much less special.

I value the anticipation of a release date as well, but xFiruath brought up an unfortunate truth.
Personally, it's not the same to listen to something online for a while to see if you like it. Somethings just need to be in your possession 24/7 so you are willing to give your attention it, as well as giving the Music and your understanding a time to click. But that's just me...
I shall resist. Sept. 15, hurry up.

Another place to go to check out music before you buy that is legit is lala.com.. They let you stream an entire album free for one time. You can also use Pandora to punch in a band name, or do it ghetto style and use Youtube, people upload songs from everyone on there. You wont be able to keep any of it, obviously, but it's a great way to sample music.
There are so many metal bands now, they pretty much depend on people buying their stuff. For a lot of them, this is their passion and life. Feed them.

Glad you liked it, Oz.
Ok, everbody knows that I dont care about Megadeth, but still I had a listen to it.
I thought it was ok, but the issue I had with this one is, Ive heard all this stuff before. Why would I buy stuff Ive already got? Theres nothing new here.
Thats why I always look forward to albums by (as examples) Meshuggah, Mastodon and Tool. You never know what to expect.
To me, Megadeth sounds old and repetitive. My opinion.
