Sunday Old School: Dark Angel's "Merciless Death" Live Video
Dark Angel is a thrash band that formed in 1981 and played on and off up until 2005. They were pretty big in the Bay City thrash movement, so you might call them some of our "thrash granddads." If you care you can read their whole story here. It's really awesome that we're still able to experience some of the music that influenced the bands we love today. This video is a live clip from their 1989 show in Hammersmith, London. This of course was back when you could wear tight jeans and have feathered hair and not get your ass beat by the other metal heads.

Man, I seen these guys when I was in high school before the emergence of bands like Anthrax and thrash was still scaring the hell out of our parents, it was great. I had to sneak out of my bedroom window and run away from home for the weekend with my creepy boyfriend but it was worth it. I had a headache for a week, maybe it was the hangover.

I'm going to see Dethklok in November and that will be my last concert. I'm too old for them. I don't know if Dark Angel was in their prime back then but I always like looking back on the bands I seen when they were new. I seen Matallica when they were first starting out and they sucked but less than 6 months later they had a show that I'll never forget. No one will, it was the ultimate Sin tour with Ozzy and we lost 2 of our most beloved musicians.

Arg! Finally someone says that out loud; thank you!
I found out about these guys a few months ago, but I've never seen a vid. I liked 2:48, that was sweet :) Good tune.
