Metal Maniacs Magazine To Return In Online Format

Presumed dead, METAL MANIACS MAGAZINE will be back in business in September 2009 though in new form as a monthly online web publication.

Zenbu Media, owner of METAL MANIACS, closed the doors to the print operation of the magazine in February 2009. Realizing an opportunity to further strengthen the underground metal community online, Mike Riddick, owner of Metalhit.com, stepped in to take over the development and operation of the new format for METAL MANIACS online.

The new METAL MANIACS will feature an Mp3 store with a catalog of more than 12,000 underground extreme metal songs from various bands and labels around the world; monthly band interviews and special interest features, a community forum, regular contests and select weekly and monthly song downloads from up and coming bands.

METAL MANIACS will continue to serve as "The Voice of the Underground" to fans worldwide. Visitors can expect contributions from previous editorial staff members as well as a few new ones.

Be sure to check out the new site in September 2009.

The 90's were the best period for this mag. Soon into the 2000's, they just started getting really crappy, and I eventually quit buying them. It seems that now, most of the mag is just the lower crust of black metal and grindcore.

To the critics of Maniacs past. Stop whinning and being overly critical of Maniacs (Chupacabra-to some of us, Maniacs is the voice of the underground along side anther mag that I will not mention out of respect to Maniacs). For the person that said Maniacs went to crap, look bro., every outfit has its dark period and even in that darkness beauty can be found. I defend Maniacs only because I have watched them grow over the years and while I didn't always like the changes made to it, I also understand that decisions are made based upon business survival something that unfortunately the metal legions often times refuse to deal with. To the new owner of Maniacs, thank you for stepping up and bringing the machine back (regardless of the format, besides all magazine should go digital anyway, its cheaper), However sir, please, please, please....bring back Liz Cavalera as editress, I miss her and as a fellow journalist I want to see my girl back on top of underground metal oversight. Thank you lml lml
