Band Photo: Atreyu
Atreyu reports that they are almost done with their new album in a short update:
"So it's been a while since we've said anything about it.. but we're about 87.33% done w/ the new record. It should be done by August and it set for release in October I believe. We'll let you know track listing, album title, etc very soon.
"Also, if you didn't know already, we have a Twitter. We update it fairly frequently so add us! Atreyu Twitter."

too bad the headline isnt "Atreyu almost done with career" that last cd blew they used to have some real good shi t , i never understood why they would break out in tears and sing about their feelings but it was good enough to download off limewire. always thought the guitar players should do a better metal band or at least get the balls to turn theirs around...well i talk alot of crap for someone that listens to atreyu
^Metallica said the same thing ya know, and we got Death Magnetic. Dont ever listen to a band when they say that.
I always thought the drummer was the worst part of the band. I always thought his drumming sounded lazy or sloppy, and he's the one always pushing to have more clean singing, which I hate.
The bass player though, is a badass. Some heckler in the crowd was about to spit on him while he was doing a bass solo on his knees, and he leaped out and punched the dude in the face. Not to mention he's the guy who's pushing for more screaming(but nobody pays attention to the bass player)
Now Playing: At the Gates- Nausea
Death Magnetic is an album that has redeemed Metallica's career in my mind... million times better than St. Anger.
Atreyu's "The Curse" and "suicide notes and butterfly kisses" were good metal cd's, but the rest of their catalog is crap. I'll give the new one a listen but won't be expecting much.
i'm sorry but i'm just not THAT into the sh!tty "screamo" stuff. atreyu's old stuff sucked @$$ to me, but then when i heard the new album, it rocked!! i rlly enjoyed it kinda like a7x's new stuff too. i hate their first two albums just like a7x's too. BOTH atreyu's and a7x's singers changed for the better kuz their so-called "screaming" just sounded like garbage imo. anyone can bash my opinion all they want, but my opinion will still b left intacted.
Frank: That post was a perfect example of learning to justify mediocrity in the place of greatness. A million times better than St. Anger? So is the steaming pile of sh!t I dropped into the toilet this morning, but that doesn't make it a great sh!t. As FAN stated, never listen to a band when they say they're "getting back to their roots".
Death Magnetic is not mediocre... it's not to the likes of and justice for all or kill em all, but it's definitely a step back to their roots and a quality album. I don't know why we're talking about Metallica on here, their name shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Atreyu...
well, since we're changing topics, and mentioning other bands that have nothing to do with each other.... is it just me, or have the last 2 gojira albums seem a bit more on the metalcore side? even so, still rock and are brutal but idk. and why isn't heaven shall burn praised more? =\ i believe that they are the german equivalent to LOG, but just a lil less groovy.
i think randy of LOG should do a song w/ HSB just like he did w/ gojira, which was just \m/!! it only makes sense, i mean, randy sounds like he IS a motherfvckin' demon, and then the singer of HSB sounds like he has a huge legion of demons straight from hell trapped in his esophagus trying to escape from his throat every time he opens his mouth.

NO you people who are saying things like "im not going to listen to this new album atreyu has gone softer" dont say that!
alex stated that their new album will be heavier :D
read:
“We started as a heavy hardcore band,” says lead vocalist Alex Varkatzas, “and I think we’ve gotten away from that in recent years. The last record, for example, showcased us as a rock band with heavy parts. With this record, we want to return to our roots while also continuing to move forward. It’s about finding the right balance between the two.”
i think the new album will have both, stuff from their roots and the new stuff. alex did say they had to find the right balance between the two. i personally wouldnt care either way though if they had new type songs or old cause i like all kinds of music. its just dumb cause im a new atreyu fan so i never got used to old atreyu. ive heard the songs but i didnt hear them by the album, just randomly so the new and old stuff is mixed together
