Periphery Posts Michael Jackson Tribute, "Black or White," Online
Maryland progressive metal band, Periphery, has posted a cover of Michael Jackson's "Black or White" in tribute to his death on their MySpace page.
Periphery will be touring with DevilDriver, Emmure, Despised Icon, Veil of Maya, For The Fallen Dreams, Oceano, and Thy Will Be Done on the Thrash and burn Tour.
The band comments on the tribute, "We wanted to honor a legendary music figure and a personal hero for all of us that has passed on. Despite the controversy that surrounded this man's life, we feel it's pretty safe to say that MJ was one of the most influential and bad ass singers / performers that has ever graced the stage. From us to you, we give you our version of MJ's Black or White. We hope that it brings you as much joy as it has brought to us...cuz we had a hell of a time recording it!!! BIG props to our boy taylor for helping make this happen in such a short amount of time. RIP Michael... wherever you may be, you will always be the king to us! CHAMON!"

mj was an artist who brought together different people and different genres of music, so i shouldnt have been surprised to hear how well this song sounded when viewed interpreted as metal. great job periphery, and long live the king of pop!
