oh my god!.. if i had one. Anyway, if i hear one more interpretive growl that is considered singing on dave's behalf I will vomit. How many f***in albums til you realize your done. DONE . Spell megadeth with a zero. Tasteless waste of cash on everyones part. Even if you deal in the u.s. dollar. yes, i do. unfortunetly.
Well, the cat seems to like it :)
Watching this bit made me wonder if Pro Tools makes all bands sound exactly alike. With everybody recording on Pro Tools, Logic and Cubase using Ampfarm, Amplitude and GuitarRigs the production's become so tight and flawless that it's almost taking a lot of the personality off the actual performance. Just saying as usual
M703: I wouldn't use a studio that doesn't use Pro Tools. Especially since I pay by the hour. It just makes good sence. I've never "cheated" and cut and pasted a note, but as far as overall production is concerned, one would be a fool to not use Pro Tools.

Blindgreed1; I agree, as Im in the same boat as you. I love Pro Tools and all the possibilities it offers. What I was trying to say is, when I heard that clip there - the mix bit - I didnt really recognize it as Megadeth (could be me of course. As everybody knows I love Megadeth as much as Branded does Metallica and I watched the clip only cos it was with Sneap) but overall I'm getting the impression that everything's starting to sound exactly alike. Its probably more due to the amp plug-ins and that people are moving away from "real" amps and going for amp simulators etc etc.
It's actually this concern that I have that all the bands start to sound sonically exactly the same, and let's face it, many of them do already.
M703: Agreed. I just wanted to make sure where you stood on Pro Tools. I am NOT a supporter of amp simulators and I also have a real problem with the ammount of compression that everyone is using these days as well. What the hell has Terry Date been up to lately? *Ponders the possibilities*
Blindgreed1, I'd like to hear your stuff. Any way I could find you on myspace or something? I wouldn't mind sending u a few of my MP3s either. In any case, My email's on my profile :)
bristowe, compression's great when used in "reasonable" amounts/ways.
I can see what Blindgreed's saying about Death Magnetic. That's Rick Rubin's doing. That VERY pushed signature sound of his, that works for Red Hot Chili Peppers, but for Metallica... hmm

"Yeah, I think roadrunner records are after a finished album." ... NO sh**.
The previews sound good ... an over-hyped album, maybe (tho compared to death magnetic it's not been hyped whatsoever), but I'm looking forwards to hearing this.
