Elevator 22 Calls It Quits
Canadian metal band, Elevator 22 has decided to call it quits. The band has provided the following explanation:
"After nearly nine years as one of the pillars of heavy metal madness in Hamilton, Ontario, Elevator 22 has finally called it a day. This past May 15th marked the final show for Elevator 22. The band has broken up quietly and amicably and the best reason we can provide right now is that Elevator 22 has simply run its course. After nearly a decade together, musical tastes and band chemistry are bound to change. Moreover, after slogging it out for nearly ten years, it’s time to vacate the niche we’ve inhabited and let the newcomers have a shot."
"Over the years we have managed to solidify our reputation as one of the premiere local metal acts in Hamilton, have produced four studio recordings including a full length LP and even one video. We’ve played with some of our greatest heavy metal heroes (Cryptopsy, Kataklysm, Strapping Young Lad, Despised Icon, and others) and performed with some of the best local acts around."
"Although this marks the end for Elevator 22, it does not mean an end to our music. Curt and Mike are currently writing, recording and rehearsing material for Curt’s That Boy Ain’t Right project (http://www.myspace.com/tbarmetal). Bart is presently focusing his efforts on finishing his PhD but is planning on writing a follow-up to his Krak EP (http://www.myspace.com/krakmetal). Casey will be taking a break from live performance but is working on new original material as well."
"And so, with the demise of Elevator 22, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years through the good times, the bad times and even during our eighteen month hiatus back in 2006/2007. Special thanks to Norm Killeen (Threat Signal) for filling in on drums when times got rough. Thanks to all the bands, promoters and fans that have helped along the way. Stay metal and stay true. Be good to yourselves, good to each other and good to the planet – it’s the only place we’ve got."
The now defunct Elevator 22, comprising:

Bart Maslikowski (Krak the Insatiable, AKA Periwinkle the Monstrous - bass/vox)
