The Rockstar Ramblings: Rock and Ribs
Band Photo: Kiss (?)
Ex-front man Stephen Pearcy (Ratt, Arcade, Rat Bastards) is currently on tour. He is singing songs from all of his previous bands as well as playing all leads on the guitar, giving new meaning to a SOLO tour. Taking a page from Bret Michaels, Pearcy is also looking for all girl rock bands for an upcoming reality show. On the surface this appears to be a way to meet girls and exploit them on reality television; however, he insists it is all legit. Well played Stephen, wink-wink.
Over Memorial Day weekend Bret Michaels played The Rib Festival in Cleveland. At the same time Jackyl played Rib America in St. Louis, once again proving that nothing goes with eighties rock like women, beer, and ribs over a holiday weekend….In a recent interview Joe Perry, guitarist for Aerosmith, spoke of the difficulties of playing on the road saying, “I have over 600 guitars and can only take 12 or so on the road with me”. Last week Steven Adler mentioned in an interview that the last time he talked with Axl Rose (3 years ago) they had a great talk over a $3000 bottle of tequila. Perry and Adler give this week’s examples on how hard it is to be a rock star.
In reference to Jimi Hendrix, fellow guitar slinger Eddie Van Halen was quoted: “I’m just saying I’m very different than Hendrix because I create stuff.” If only Jimi was around to accept this obvious challenge. Lesson for the kids: Only do the amount of drugs you are able to handle….Buckcherry will be the opening act for the Summer Kiss tour. Kiss is having fans vote for the places the band will play during their tour. “From stadiums to cornfields, we’ll play anywhere”, Says Gene Simmons. No word on whether limited edition Kiss corn will be sold at concessions….In related gossip from an unreliable source Scott Weiland’s transformation into David Bowie will be complete by mid June…Jani Lane, ex-lead singer of Warrant continues to tour solo while his old band continues to tour as Warrant without him. In other bizarre news, Burger King continues to operate without burgers.

Jamez - Not this guy.!! Yeah, the modeling aspect is certainly cool.!
But there is just something about picking up a Gibson and feeling that solid slab of Mahogany..
Or the feel of an 80s Kramer or Charvel with that smooth unfinished maple neck that
is just screaming to be tore up :)
I wouldn't give up my 80s Kramer's for a dozen Line6 guitars.!!!
Jamez - I have a Line6 amp...but it sits in the corner.! I havent even turned it on in 6mnths or more.??
I play through a Digitech processor that I run straight through my PA..!!
( take a look at my profile to see my arsenal :)
Do you have a real ESP or an LTD.? ESP necks are really quite similar to the 80s Kramers... In fact
it was ESP that made most of the parts for Kramer back in the late 80s.!!
I used to have a sweet ESP that I picked up out of the newspaper for 25 bucks from an old lady who sold her son's guitar. Scalloped fret board, Bill Lawrence L500's, while pearl paint and a hard case. Unfortunately my ex smoked it. I'm still not real sure why I didn't just carve her heart out with a spoon over that one. I did love that axe.
NP: The Czar - Mastodon
Warrant without Jani Lane. Is a band that you can at least depend on. Jani is a practicing alcohic and is drunk most of the time. I don't want to drive for hours and spend my money to see one of his messed up shows. The problem is you never know if he is going to be drunk or not!
godlike, I've got both, an ESP Eclipse and a LTD 603, which is the Kirk Hammett signature Les Paul style guitar. I wish I could combine both actually.... now that'd be a dream! The photo on the left is my old Ibanez loaded with EMG pickups (81, SA, SA). As for Line6, they have some great stuff and some totally rubbish, like the PODs dont work for me at all. I havent had the chance to really try the POD pros (the rackmount ones) but at least all the POD 2.0s and POD XTs dont work for me one bit
Jamez - The ESP Eclipse is certainly a nice axe.! Not much of Hammett fan, but I am familiar with
those his signature models.!
Actually, I'm kind of a guitar fanatic.! Its a daily routine of mine to scan Ebay for new toys to add to my collection.! An ESP is on the list of "will have someday"..!!
My Kramer Nightswan is loaded with EMGs.. an 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the middle position..
If your not familiar with the Nightswan... they do not have a neck position PU..!
They were Vivian Campbell's signature model and only made from 88-90..!! Kinda rare to find now and cost an arm an a leg if you can find one.??
I agree with the Line6 products... having some rubbish and some decent products... But when it comes to effects... I am a huge fan of Digitech... excellent quality effects and their amp modeling is second to none as far as Im concerned... Ive owned Boss, Line6 and Zoom... I sold em all and kept my Digitech.!!
TOG - I hear ya bro... Having only one guitar would certainly suck... Its nice to have that variety...Because they all have their own feel and sound.!!
Krokus - Stand and Be Counted

Lol, yeah, it must be so hard only having 600 guitars... What a wanker.
